Re: New Mattress

This is the one, damned pricey for what it is, but she no longer suffers the crippling pains in her chest and back each morning.

Re: New Mattress

Because my wife suffers from a slipping hiatus hernia we we recently advised to lift the head of the bed at least 5”. As a more workable alternative we bought a Putnam mattress tilter which is a large wedge of foam that sits under the mattress and does the same job, but doesn’t put any stress on the...

Re: Luggage

I want to try Artie without any luggage. It just took me 20 mins to remove all the luggage and the King Charles ears (crash bars). Having had it all on from new to me (apart from when it was on the work bench) the ass end looks small. I've not tried it without the luggage yet, so going to try it on...

Re: Insurance

Just had notification from BMW Motorrad Ins that they’re changing from Devitts to Atlanda, have to confess I’ve not heard of them.

Re: Luggage

I have a small Touratech tailpack for the various odds ‘n sods as I don’t like topboxes, too heavy, high up, and far back over the rear axle. I generally prefer when possible to run without panniers, they’re also heavy and offers my wife the opportunity put in loads of stuff that she apparently ‘nee...

Re: Pannier locks

Here in the UK we have a acronym - RTFM, which essentially says check your handbook! 🤣

For other matters there’ll always be someone on here with the answer, so ask away.

Re: The annual Greece trip ‘24

I hope we’ve got it off to a fine art now as it’s our 13th crossing! The worst was with coach loads of American teenagers who got drunk as quickly as possible and spent the whole night shouting to each other.
We’ve also learnt to always get cabins, I’m way too old to sleep rough.

The annual Greece trip ‘24

Every year since 2010 (Covid excepting) we’ve ridden down to Greece, with a different route or focus each time. Last year it was a wander down through Italy to Bari via Herculaneum to see the archeological site and lots of bones, a great ride other than high winds and driving rain until we reached G...

You can get Aliexpress ones, I think Dr T bought one but I doubt they do one for the Sargent seat.

Re: Women

My wife is a gem… if I’m fighting with something on the bike, cold, wet, or thoroughly p*ssed off she says “Cup of tea or a glass of wine?”
