Re: Impersonating a police officer

Interesting read. I have just bought a 2016 RT LE in white. No specific reason for going for white, it was the right bike at the right price at the right time for me. It has all the boxes so fully geared up. Do people think it's old bill coming up behind them? Dunno, cos I'm a great believer in one ...

I've only had my LE model for approx 2 weeks, but love it.
Sorry can't be more helpful, but love it, love it, love it!
You get the idea  :)

Re: BMW Premium Selection - Used Bike

For a BMW used bike to be sold through a Motorrad dealer under the "Premium Selection" with a 2 year warranty, it needs to have an unbroken BMW service history. Here is an example of what on paper looks like a lovely bike, 1 owner, 2013, less than 12K miles with full service history, http...

Re: Heated seat on an LC RT

Well, Lovetts in Bristol had a look at my heated seat today. They came out and showed me a thermal image of my seat and the area that it is heating. It's working as it should apparently. I can only think I'm not feeling it through my textile trousers, although I do still have the liners in them. Cou...

You would from me !

Re: Lift a leg

+1 for me too. Although, I was still in the habit of sticking the leg out to say thanks when we came back from France last year, certainly for a week or so. French drivers are certainly the most courteous to bike riders I've seen so far. They really do get right onto the grass verge to allow you pas...

Re: The Nod

Agreed, big groups pose a nodding problem. You'd land up like the churchill dog :-)
In France with big groups, you stick ya clutch hand out to wave, not so easy driving on the left!. The leg goes out to say thank you to car/van/lorry drivers that frequently let you past over there.

The Nod

I have searched and couldn't find anything come up, so here goes. A few of my friends that I ride with were quite surprised when I said I was getting a BMW. They stated that BMW riders are snobs and "ride round with their heads up their own arses."  They feel that BMW riders only ...

Re: Heated seat on an LC RT

I will leave the seat on full for an hour next time I'm out to see if it works eventually.

UPDATE:  Still not that hot. Dealer is having a look at it on Friday

Re: Tank Bag recommendations please

Thank you very much for taking the time to do that for me, it's very much appreciated. That is the size I want, nothing bigger needed for me really. I think that would house what I needed it to. I'll look into those.

Thanks again.

Re: Heated seat on an LC RT

Just read this thread with interest. My 2016 hand grips get very hot, too hot in fact when cranked right up. The seat on the other hand, I can honestly say I don't feel at all. I have had it up on full 5 bar setting with a view to feeling that I would need to turn it down, but I didn't. The dash sho...

Re: Tank Bag recommendations please

I've got one of the very small Givi tank lock bags on my 1250, I think it is an XS319 but it is about that size. Perfect for passport, wallet, toll road tickets, phone, camera etc. It is not supposed to be water proof but I think in reality it is only the zip that would be a problem so I have never...

Re: Tank Bag recommendations please

:) It's brilliant the way people answer, cos everyone has different bags for different needs. I always do the search first, but I find it's always best to ask people that have used the things long term and found out the problems or benefits that happen after long term use. I'm lucky that I only nee...

Tank Bag recommendations please

Hi,

I wish to buy a tank bag for my 2016 RT. Is there any I should avoid like the plague, is there any that come highly recommended?
I don't want anything massive, just for phone, passport, battery charger etc

Cheers
