Re: What did you do today?
Finally got the RT out, on clean, dry roads. Just a nice bimble around the Oxfordshire countryside. Most of the villages are 20 mph limits now - it's getting like being in Wales, without the mountains!

Re: What did you do today?
Took one of my Panthers out for a spin - the lanes around here are still too mucky for the R1250RT!
Looks like it will be "BMW" weather on Saturday!

Re: Abba Stand
Try getting a Model 120 Panther onto its centre stand and you will realise that the RT is a doddle, by comparison. The Panther is much lighter than the RT, too!

Re: little Rant
I post when I have something which I think might be useful or interesting. Being a sad old anorak, that is not very often! I will admit that I am only really interested in RT related stuff, though I accept that others may want more of a community feel. Each to their own, I have no issues with that. ...

Re: What did you do today?
With a "drying track", I took out my little Panther, as she does not mind getting a bit wet. Just as well, 'cos quite a few roads were still flooded and required a bit of "wading". I thought the sign at Swallowfield (company name, not a danger sign) was quite appropriate. The R12...

Re: What did you do today?
Yes, Dropped it here, in the Thames Valley! Thanks a bunch. My RT is in the garage, on life support. I did manage a short (30 mile) run yesterday. Once the salt is down, the BMW remains in hibernation and I just use my Panthers. They are oily enough to not be bothered by a bit of salt! Roll on the s...

Re: Alloy forks pitting - how to get them looking good!
I have used Rub'n'Buff on bare alloy casing (on my old 1989 R100RT) with very good results. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/699269873/original-rub-n-buff-metallic-wax-finish?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_uk_en_gb_-craft_supplies_and_tools-powe...

I ,too, took out the 5 year plan. Covers parts & labour (not tyres) so turned out to be a bit of a bargain, methinks. I still have two years left on mine.

Re: MOT time
Bad luck with the Lurgi!
I had my flu & Covid jabs recently - flu in the left arm, Covid in the right. I'm covered, as long as I don't get flu in the right arm......
At least you are not currently missing fine, warm, dry riding weather.
Best wishes,
Old Foxy

Re: SW update for GS/GSA/RTP on my '20 R1250RT
I had the suspension software update done on my 2020 R1250RT last week (there is one, specifically for the "civilian" RT). No change to the bike's performance, as my dealer clearly used the correct RT update and not the GS one! I suggest you go back and ask them to install the correct soft...

Re: What did you do today?
Had a trundle around Wiltshire, to scrub in the new tyres. The MAMILs were out in force, but no trouble for the RT. Stopped in Pewsey for a coffee at the Community Cafe, before continuing the run in lovely 30C warm, sunny weather. You can just see my red RT, surrounded by cyclists. In this weather, ...

I'm near Reading, but OK for Goodwood, provided that it is dry & sunny (like today!).

Re: R1250RT - check your screens
Looked at mine today,. whilst the screen was off for a "de-bug". All good, I'm pleased to say. The pins look to be simple enough to fabricate on my old lathe, so if either does go missing, I will just make a few in shiny stainless steel, as replacements. I'm not paying BMW prices! Old Foxy
