Re: 2011 R12RT - Fuel level?

This is rather obvious, but if you park on the centerstand the fuel has a bit farther to go before it reaches the overflow.

Doctorate? Hah! *I* was nominated for a Nobel Prize in f*ups. Lost out in the end to some damn politician...

Re: PARTIAL display fault

They occurred simultaneously. The DWA warning appeared and the two bar graphs had failed when I went to ride one morning. I attacked the DWA battery issue first as it was the one item I found information on online, and I wanted to eliminate the faint possibility that one could have impacted the othe...

Re: PARTIAL display fault

Thanks for the thoughts... I understand the temp not reading until things warm up, but the fuel gauge went out as well. Other than those two items everything else displays/works properly. I opened the alarm box courtesy of a right-angle driver, as I just didn't feel like spending a week removing/rep...

Re: PARTIAL display fault

No, I start the engine, but those two bar displays remain totally blank (no segments showing).

Thanks,

PARTIAL display fault

A bit of background- I've been riding and wrenching since the mid 60's. Retired engineer. W-A-Y too parsimonious (ie: cheap) to pay someone for what I can do myself. Re: R1200RT oil cap tool

I didn't mean to sound 'critical', except in that I thought BMW's tool could be improved upon. And folks who managed to lose/break theirs might want an alternative to paying BMW prices for a replacement. Also, having a spare to keep in my toolbox, rather than digging under the seat if I needed to to...

Re: R1200RT oil cap tool

Noted, I made a change to the text explaining the difference. Kinda hard to visibly confuse these with a TORX though...

Headlights? Don't get me started. I just know I would run afoul of a profanity filter somewhere along the line.

R1200RT oil cap tool

Greetings all- new member and my first post as well: I wanted something better than the stubby tool BMW gives you for the oil filler cap. Being W-A-Y over the top as far as DIYing goes, I designed my own and 3D printed copies for my toolbox and bike kit. I posted the design files online at https://w...
