I had the same thing (2020 RT). SOS light and warning triangle indicating the sos system was not working. Next day bike would not start. I put the battery on charge. The following morning the voltage was 5.3 volts. I called the BMW emergency number (from home) as the bike was still under guarantee. ...

I had a problem with an sos warning which would not go away. Called out BMW and it turned out to be a loose battery terminal.
