Re: Tyre Changer

Is there anything to prevent the adapter marking the paint on the wheel? Trying to remember what the wheel is like, thinking machined surface on one side but painted on the other. When I fitted my front tyre the last time I had to put a lot of effort into getting the last inch onto the rim new tyre....

Re: Tyre Changer

@ Easyrider did you get the rear wheel adapter.... I need to do my rear tyre soon so will need to knock something up on the lathe for this. Will measure accurately when I take the wheel off but want a rough idea of what size of blank I need. Seen some videos using 2" BSP plastic pipe connectors...

Re: Water Running Down the Inside of Visor.

Exactly the same issue with me, plus I don’t like having visor closed, bit claustrophobic…. Anyone on here that doesn’t have this issue? Would be good to know if it’s the helmet or the screen

Re: R1200RT Autotrader

What’s going on with prices….. I have a 2020 1250RT, immaculate condition 12k miles, dealer offered me £10k trade in against a second hand K1600!

Does mileage effect price that much on a touring bike

Where do you guys go for price guides?

Time for New Brake Pads

As above, been told my rear pads are low.... 12k miles, is that about normal? Anyway, doing a search for new, Nippy Normans has EBC, not the clearest selection but fleabay has same, Double HH... £25 Mine is a 2020 shiftcam, there appears to be different listings for 2019 bikes? Did the pads change a...

If you’d told them it was rattly it should have been foc. Have you had it changed ?, how did you find the difference?. Haven't done anything about it, asked if it was a recall they said no, looked at my warranty... out by a few months....so chargable. I do use the bike over the winter but not as mu...

Panman40 wrote: Mon Sep 25, 2023 5:32 am Not a recall exactly, but if you ask your dealer about it they should change it, if not I don’t think they are to expensive to buy. If the nut head is 17mm you have the original tensioner, if it’s 19mm the updated one has been fitted.
Gave them a call, mine is the 17mm one.. £125 fitted......

Re: Workshop Manual - Tick

Wear ear plugs Martin! I always thought the Pan made strange noises when I rode it into the garage and wasn’t wearing a earplugs or a helmet. I normally put ear plugs in before I start the bike and stop the bike before removing plugs :-D I bought new plugs with various filters, thats when I started...

Re: Workshop Manual - Tick

Got the bike back today from its service, valves were all in spec so no adjustment. Asked them to have a listen, they recon its sound's fine.. assuming its just normal, engine loosening off with miles?

One of my mates has a 2021 RT, will have a listen to his next time I see him..

Re: Workshop Manual - Tick

mention it and see what they say if you would rather do it yourself

yea, my thoughts as well, if its a known issue with a fixed cost then will probably let them get on with it but if its a leave your credit card and we will investigate.... it'll be a winter project..

Starting to get a ticking noise from the front of my engine, 1250RT - 12000 miles. Its due to go in for its 12k service so it may get sorted with valve clearances etc but doesnt sound as if its coming from the heads.Difficult to tell. Had a look about on the net to see of anyone has video'd removing...

BoB21 wrote: Tue Jul 18, 2023 10:11 am £515 is a lot more than I would expect to pay for 12,000 mile service even if brake fluid change due. My last main service 60,000 only came to just over £300. Are they quoting for any other work?
No Additional work, just had another quote from a different dealer, £400 or £350 without brake fluid….
