Re: Visor Down?

That would be close to a century. I had one of those with the pressure buttons? No bueno. Some manufacturers have helmets with an anti-fog insert that you stick on the visor. It seems to work pretty well on mine after two winters. Don't want to run a commercial but I went for an Arai because it is p...

Re: Top case, old or new model?

Some dude busted my original top case simply hammering a screwdriver in. These locks are very complex, yet highly insecure since just punching them opens the trunk. Now I bought a large Givi and the back rest is less comfortable. Cheaper and safer, I want my passengers to stay aware, not lounging in...

Re: Rear Drive Bearing Failure

I took my 2012 up a hill on a dirt road once with an enthusiastic passenger, so I rode it like it was a GSA. That was really fun sliding the turns, but sure enough, the bike developed a leak a few days after that. I brought it to the shop and they said the ball bearing was busted. I want a bike that...

Re: Seats

In my case, I got some nice leather seats and had to change the connectors with some that could easily be probed with a volt-meter. The tension (V) was erratic and the new seats never got warm. There was something wrong upstream. For handlebars, I think a common failure is that the resistive circuit...

Re: Seats

They stopped working on my 2012 after about six years. I got some custom seats and they still would not heat so the failure is not at the seat level. Then the left grip stopped working. Leaving in California with a short commute, I managed to survive these dark times :)

Perfect video, thank you. The screwdriver on mine is philips and torx, so maybe I was wrong.

Re: R1250RT 2020 key fob battery change

Thank you. I found it pretty funny that one has to remove the loudspeaker and squeeze the key under the instrument cluster if the battery runs out. It is not like any tool (miserable set) under the saddle allows you to do that, so I was trying to stay prepared. Probably a better strategy to keep a s...

Re: R1250RT 2020 key fob battery change

Thanks Pete, I was not ready to use a screwdriver after only a few hours of getting my new baby.

So it's more like break it open? Not a very good design, a small screw would have been preferable. Does anyone know the battery life expectancy?

R1250RT 2020 key fob battery change

Hi,
Just got my new bike today and I am reading the manual (some people do). I cannot figure out how to open the key fob to change the battery. The manual says: "Press battery cover 2 upward." I tried to press every where, but nothing opens.
Sorry for being dumb :(

Re: The first 1000 miles on a MY20

Hi everyone, first post on this forum. My name is Eric and I live in the south San Francisco Bay. English is my second language, so please forgive my broken English. My 2012 just broke down (some stupid bracket holding the gear selector),so I got a 2020 today. - I agree that it feels a bit heavier a...
