Re: To Install Crash Bars or Not?

I had the Wunderlichs front and rear installed on my 2020 RT before I even picked up.  With my history of stupid drops, I thought it would be good insurance.  Insurance I used by the end of the first week of ownership!  What can I say, shit happens.  No damage to ...

Re: Trouble in Paradise

Good news on my RT. Dealer called today and told me ready to pick up, it was a loose connection to throttle sending bike into limp home mode. Even less serious than a sensor that I was hoping for. I am out of town and will pick up Friday or Saturday.

Re: Trouble in Paradise

Bike is at dealer.  They are booked in service for 2-3 weeks.  Bummer!  Good thing I have other bikes!

Trouble in Paradise

Trouble in Paradise here!! Looks like I am heading for a dealer visit for my just purchased 2020 1250RT! Today I was taking a ride to Pittsburgh to visit some friends to show off bike and to try out new Sargent Saddle. I was on a deserted 2 lane road and ran it up through the gears, accelerating ha...

Re: Phone Mounting Options - Please Help

I had the dealer install during 600 mile service.  I would think it is the same torque as the bolt it replaces in handlebar.  Not that I know what that is!

Re: Seriously considering an R1250 RT.... couple of questions for those in the know

I just bought a new leftover 2020 here in the states.  Could be differences in other markets. I purposely bought the 2020 rather than the 2021 because I wanted a traditional cockpit with tach and speedo.  I have been using Garmin for years and am familiar with them.  The N...

Re: Wunderlich vs Illium Protection Bars?

I ended up going with the Wunderlich bars.  Primarily because the front set looks better IMO.  Picking up my bike in 9 days.  Quite excited . https://photos.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/2020-BMW-R1250RT/i-2s3BHxN/0/2209e6d5/XL/thumbnail%20%283%29-XL.jpg https://photos.smugmug.c...

Re: New 2020 or wait for the '21?

I am still waiting for BMW to loosen their wallets and offer some incentives so I can close my deal on my bike!  My dealer thinks they will come March 1st.  I shall report back.

Wunderlich vs Illium Protection Bars?

I have a new 2020 1250RT coming as soon as the brake recall is completed.  I plan on putting engine and luggage protection bars on as I know I will drop this beauty at some point in not too distant future.  A slip of the foot at a stop.  Some oil on boot sole at gas stop.&...

Re: New 2020 or wait for the '21?

To bring this back on topic. Hello, I am new around here and have an agreement in place to purchase a new leftover 2020.  Why agreement and not bill of sale?  Because they are still on a "Stop Sale" for brake recall.  My dealer assures me that there will be incen...
