Re: Revs don't always return to idle between gear changes

It does have Cruise control, obviously with CC engaged I'm in top gear and not changing gear, but yes it happens with or without the CC button pushed across.

Re: Revs don't always return to idle between gear changes

I've tried it when stationery and so far it hasn't played up, it seems to be while riding. It doesn't do it all the time but when it does happen it's really annoying having to wait for the revs to drop with the clutch in so I can select the next gear up. Also seem to mainly happen with gears changes...

Re: Revs don't always return to idle between gear changes

Sometimes the revs stay at the same amount( around 3000 rpm )and other times actually increase before dropping to where they should be at closed throttle.
The non BMW garage didn't report any fault codes.
Yes it has shift assist

Revs don't always return to idle between gear changes

Hi, I've recently purchased a 2nd hand R1200RT 2017 with 14,000 miles on the clock, it runs fine apart from an annoying problem with the Revs. they don't always return back to idle in between gear changes, sometimes even blip a couple of times before dropping down. This can make for a crunchy gear c...

Re: Diagnostic program to download

Hi David,
Thanks for the reply, will have a look at this motoscan you mention,  doesn't surprise me if that's true about BMW making it difficult for anyone to run an alternative diagnostic test other than their own.

Thanks

Diagnostic program to download

Hi,  Does anyone know if there is anything I can download onto my laptop to run a diagnostic check on my 1200rt 2005 model.  I know most would say to buy a dedicated diagnostic machine/computer but I've managed to download something in the past for my Triumph.

Thanks

In tank fuel pipe

Does anyone know where I can get the in-tank flexi fuel pipe that connects to the pump, I've replaced the fuel pump which is none original but wasn't supplied with the pipe. The old one has gone hard and unable to refit it. Looked everywhere on the Internet but no joy,  I might be wrong but...

Hi David,  Well spotted and it might be the case,  Saturday the tools come out again so will check the voltage again while cranking the engine over.

Thnx

Re: LOW VOLTAGE ON FUEL PUMP CONTROL UNIT

Fuel pump relay is a known issue, mine failed on my 2006 RT a few years back. To confirm it was the problem I put 12v straight onto the pump and the bike sprang into life. Early relays were silver, later modified ones are black. Yes I agree that the pump relay could be at fault but I still need to ...

Re: LOW VOLTAGE ON FUEL PUMP CONTROL UNIT

The Haynes Manual wiring diagram only shows the power supply to the fuel pump coming directly from the ECU. The -ve seems to come from the battery, might be worth checking that the earth is good. OK thanks for the reply,  I hope its not the main ECU,  could be expensive. ...

LOW VOLTAGE ON FUEL PUMP CONTROL UNIT

Can anyone help,  the fuel pump stopped working and as a few people suggested replacing it as they are know for failing after a few years. Anyway with a new ( none original) pump on it still didn't work. After a test with the meter found that only 3.5 volts are getting to the fuel pump cont...
