so I tried this and everything  seems to work for me... I have a Samsung s10, but bought a I phone 12pro max for the RT. Downloaded the connected app and Spotify on the iPhone and connected to the bike, with my cardo headset. took multiple rides, short and long, and everything seems to work...

I am also having issues with this whole connection app. I am also using an Sc1 advanced Bluetooth unit. Although I am getting maps and navigation loaded on every start up, I have not actually tried using navigation yet. I am having endless issues trying to get my spotify music app to work flawlessly...
