Re: R1200RT vs ST1300

This is a hard one. Most on the site will be biased towards the RT. There are pros and cons for each bike. Ask your mate if you can borrow each bike for a day to see with suits you. I own a 2007 RT SE, maintenance wise the servicing is a doddle if you are doing it yourself. All oils including the re...

Bulbs

Do Cambus error-free LED bulbs really work in our bikes?. I thinking of changing my stop, tail, and indicator bulbs. Am thinking of the change as they look brighter in the day light.

Re: Pops and bangs

Pops and bangs when reaccelerating can be caused by a few things. 1. Leak in the exhaust system 2. Out of balance throttle bodies 3. Over fueling. Could the previous owned have fit a power commander or such alike thing? 4. A squashed or broken air Tube. I get a pop every now and then when hard deacc...

Re: Where / how to buy a motorbike in Spain (Malaga area)

I have UK and French licenses. I lived in La Rochelle western France for over 12 years, i also have dual nationality passports. Back then i just filled in a form that was a bit like a vehicle tax form and paid at the post office. 1 month later i had received a French license. I needed papers to conf...

Re: TB sync

Thanks, chaps. Couldn't find the idle screws show on some YT videos. So as pointed out it must be controlled by the ECU. The right side needed a tiny adjustment, which i did by adjusting the throttle cable. I left a 5mm play in the cables. Didn't really need to do but am fussy. I must say even that ...

TB sync

Bike 2007 R1200rt. Am going to sync my throttle bodies tomorrow. I've done this on all my old bikes but never a Throttle body, all the rest were carbs. Viewed a few videos on YT and it looks straightforward job. The only thing i can't find out is what should the tic over be set at. I can take a gues...

ASC

A couple of questions. On my 07 RT i have a switch with ASC written on it. I know it is the stability control but when pushed should a warning light come on in the dash?. I've tried pushing it whilst riding along and no lights came on or can you only stet this whilst at standstill?. Does it reset it...

Re: Long-term bike storage

I have a mate that used to live in Tours. He lived in a cave. Well, the front looked like a house but most of the rest was built into the mountain. They are lots of these buildings that you can see in Tours. This is where you get the name " Troglodyte" from. Remember HG Wells time machine?...

Re: Fuel prices

The problem is that the 5p reduction is up to the individual company.  What peeves me off is that the Scotland government told retailers to reduce the price of a liter by 12p, the Irish did the same. Today i was down to the last 26 miles of fuel. Put £20.00 of premium in at £1.79.9(why not ...

Re: 1250RT LE - Mobile phone compatibility with TFT

Up to last year i just an old smartphone as a sat-nav. Downloaded all the mapping apps that i needed via wifi. The phone has never had a sim fitted. As long as the GPS is turned on it worked perfectly, much better than a dedicated unit. I did have to run a charger lead on all the time as GPS on a ph...

Re: MPG. What do you get?

I did a trip to Oxford and back home this morning. A 220 mile round trip in total. This is 95% motorway and dual carriageway. A27, M27, A34, and a bit on the A40 only using the cruise control on clear bits set at 73 mph. Panniers and top box fitted but little in them. I wanted to see how the wind af...
