Re: New Mattress

Because my wife suffers from a slipping hiatus hernia we we recently advised to lift the head of the bed at least 5” That's intresting. I have a Hiatus Hernia as well. Had it for about 8 years, no one to tilt the bed up. Well all they told me was ah you have a Hiatus Hernia after taking the camera ...

Re: What did you do today?

Rode to Bournemouth this morning to have a test ride on a Ducati Diavel. What a fantastic bike. Seating position near perfect. A roll on from third and it goes supersonic. Hold on and pray. Ducati's quality has vastly improved over the years The V4 engine is so smooth up to 6000 rev then I did feel ...

Re: Luggage

My panniers are always on. Good safe storage for my helmet and jacket when I visit places. Did try once without them and found the exhaust note louder. I do fit my top box most of the time when on a journey. I think the RT looks strange without panniers fitted. It's a touring bike so in my mind they...

Re: Airhawk vs Cool Covers Seat Covers

I see one on there for £12.98 but the pictures are for a LC seat. Are they sufficiently generic to fit both? Is it just the front seat cover? https://www.temu.com/uk/for-bmw-r1200rt-r1200-r-1200-rt-1200rt-motorcycle-accessories-mesh-seat-cushion-cover-protection-insulation-seat-cover-protector-g-60...

Re: Airhawk vs Cool Covers Seat Covers

The extra height is 5 mm to 8mm. Due to the 3D matrix design it doesn't seem to compress. Despite this I find the cover very comfortable. Last year I rode to South Devon with only 2 stops and unlike the standard seat I suffered no bum burn.

Re: Airhawk vs Cool Covers Seat Covers

I purchased my copy of the Cool cover(front and Rear) from Temu. It's not a universal cover but meant for the RT. Fit is perfect but you do need to really stretch the front. For £10 I would recommend it. I keeps my meat and two veg cool in the summer as I can feel the cool air coming up from it. Not...

Re: First RT Ride

Welcome to our site. Nice first couple of ride reviews. Surprised you find it vibrates more than a GS. On my 07 RT I hardly notice any vibration unless am in the wrong gear.

Re: What did you do today?

Plugged my new to me GS_911. Expecting to find loads of faults. Surprise, surprise only two faults found, not bad for a 16 year old bike. ABS short. I learned about this from the BMW service history from five years ago. The second fault was again a short from the front accessory plug. It didn't lie....

The first time I grounded a bike it was fitted with TKC. Those tyres shouldn't as well as they do.

Re: What did you do today?

Your area is a bit like mine. Sometimes there is so much tractor dirt on the road that you need a GS just to get out of our village.
