Re: My RTC

The bike has been written off, I need to wait for the 3rd party insurance to confirm liability and inspect the bike. I have asked how the claim will be settled, ie a cash settlement or a replacement bike + the value of the extras fitted.

My RTC

For those that are wondering the circumstances of my little dice with death. Below in red shows the approx track of the car, and blue my track on the bike. The camera screen shot is at the point of impact crossing the 2 lanes of the dual carriageway, with the roundabout top right. My speed before th...

Re: SOS button

I escaped lightly, bruising to my left leg and right upper are and ligament damage in the right shoulder. The bike is a potential write off, the left mirror was ripped out of the fairing, left side body panels damaged and scuffing to the rear gearbox housing. The crash bar has pushed in the front of...

SOS button

For those that think the button is a bit of a novelty (I was one of them). After I was knocked off of my bike last week, once the bike was lifted off of my leg, I could hear a tinny voice saying "Are you OK?" then I remembered the SOS feature, I tried to understand what was being said but ...

Re: What did you do today?

I found a bike very close to mine with the same spec + radio & DLR lights. It's build date is 3 weeks earlier and has done 1100 miles more, I don't think I'll find a closer bike if mine is written off. https://approvedused.bmw-motorrad.co.uk ... ?on=525229

R1250RT Left side valve cover

How much clearance is there inside the front of the valve cover to the shift cam mech? As a result of being knocked off the bike it looks like there is a part of the cover that has been pushed in by the light bracket on the crash bar.

Re: What did you do today?

My bike has been taken for assessment today arranged by the insurance handlers. I have gone through the video of the collision in slow time, when the car turned into me it was not on the roundabout, but on the northbound A5 dual carriageway by a few feet, approx 20 feet from the 2 lane roundabout ce...

Re: What did you do today?

Thanks guys, I was in the hospital last night as my shoulder got worse. Soft tissue injury to the right shoulder, possible small fracture also. The video evidence from the Innovv K3 is damning, the car is in the left lane looking like it is going straight on, then suddenly turns right across the dua...
