Re: Captain Sisko - RBLR 1,000miles in 24hrs
This will be my third 1,000 (as also did a 500mile taster), so yeah maybe I should change my name but really, it's not that bad. If you can average 50mph for 20hrs, that's 1,000miles and gives you 4 hours for fuel & food stops, stretch and nipping behind the hedge breaks! In practice to achieve ...

Re: More nonsense from the Government
Where do you get 2040 from? I thought the current plan was initially for implementation in 2030 but was then extended to 2035.

Re: Airhawk vs Cool Covers Seat Covers
UPDATE The CoolCover arrived midweek and today I did a 280mile trip from Shrewsbury to Lincoln & back. So some initial thoughts. a. Fitting was literally a five minute jobbie. No problems, everything just fitted. b. Initial comfort felt okay, no movement, you couldn't feel the mesh and perhaps ...

Re: South West & South Wales Area
Hi All, Great to meet up and put faces to names, and not a problem to lead the ride today. I hope everyone enjoyed it, AND wasn't the weather good! Leaving the Gore-Tex gloves on worked perfectly at warding off evil showers and I didn't see so much as a drop all the way back. All in about 240miles o...

Re: What's behind the front engine casing?
BMW have a problem with corrosion on engine cases & shaft drive housing, and they will replace the entire engine if you complain loud enough. As your bike is still within it's 3yr warranty you ought to be claiming under warranty before you go around changing screws or touching anything.

Re: South West & South Wales Area
Take a look on page 3 there is a route there Based on that I've just knocked up the following. It obviously doesn't take into account EasyRider's local knowledge of the best route in & out of town so I've just used the main road, but once were on the road if anyone gets lost, it's good enough. ...

Re: South West & South Wales Area
Bit late to the party, but I'll be coming down from Shrewsbury in the morning. Have you got a GPX file for the route, or at least a screen shot of a map?

Re: Airhawk vs Cool Covers Seat Covers
Thanks for all your replies and I've ordered a Cool Cover to see how it goes. I've got a 250mile RTE next weekend and then an Iron Butt 1000 a couple of weeks later. I'll report back later.
Worst case scenario and it could be the Airhawk over the Cool Cover!

Re: full beam. Why?
I used to ride with the Denali's with 'spot' lenses and whilst these are no doubt brighter and after dark lit up further ahead I found I got flashed at too often, hence why I put in the ribbed Fog/Dripped. When I've asked people who I have been following how noticeable they are during the day, (even...

Re: Pressure washers ?….
I've tried several of the technical snow foams and in all honesty I don't think they're any better than a pre rinse with a low powered battery jet wash to wash the worst of it off. Whenever I've tried them they don't just shift the black pad dust or grim stuck to the exhaust and I have have to end u...

Re: full beam. Why?
Any issue with yellow spots at the mot. I had the white lenses in when I had my MOT done last year so can't comment accurately, however I think it's one of the weird rules with motorcycle MOT's in that only the OEM lights are checked, whereas on cars all lights are checked. As long as the auxiliary...

Re: full beam. Why?
My tuppence worth..... 'Yellows' at car driver sight line, flash in sync with indicators so no conflict, indicator on/ yellow off IMG_3845.jpeg That's a very similar set up to mine and although it's entirely unscientific, but when I changed from clear to Yellow filters on my Denali lights drivers d...

I've got a pair of those and they've seen me through five winters so far. Damned good gloves.
