Re: RoadLok

Got to admit I hadn't heard of that make before, but that's a neat solution, however at £210 (£220 for the bling version) it's a pricy bit of kit. That said, have you seen the price of a good disc lock nowadays that is both less convenient to carry and judging by review below, ain't as good either. ...

I've used Autoglym Engine & Machine cleaners and got good results.

Re: Garage Door Remote Control

Flash2Pass.com, ............... FYI - Flash2Pass have ceased trading, and the company that acquired the rights (NSDC) have discontinued them. They do have a replacement but 1/ It looks one heck of a lot more complicated. And 2/ It's $260 before I even think about shipping & import costs to the ...

No, I took my OEM one off when I installed the Mini Soundbomb.

Re: Hex EzCan

You need to be aware that you can vary the brightness and turn off your extra light via the Wonder Wheel and on some models also turn them off through pressing the indicator switch for too long and/or pressing it repeatedly. It's difficult to do accidentality but it can be done. If you think as I di...

Re: Garage Door Remote Control

I dont have a radio so ....... To be honest the OEM radio on my '18 is a waste of time. AM & FM only and a 3.5mm jack socket for an MP3 player. I mean who still broadcast on those frequencies or uses an ipod nowadays. Then there's the wind & engine noise, not to mention my head's inside a h...

Re: Garage Door Remote Control

This is something that I also want to do! The actual doing bit wasn't that bad, just took a bit of courage to drill the hole! The remote was sitting unused in the spares drawer, the push button cost £8.00, the hole cutter £5.20, (both from Amazon) and the soldering & wire a beer. Quite cheap an...

Garage Door Remote Control

Something I've been wanting to do for a long time is to fit a press button somewhere on the fairing so when I get home I can press the bottom as I approach the garage and ride straight in. I looked at several kits, all horrendously expensive and overly complicated so I made my own! I now have a full...

Re: Hex EzCan

Yeah, definitely worth it. I've got a pair of Denali D2 and DRL that melt the tarmac up front, a Sound Bomb if I need to make my presence heard and an extra brake light at the back to remind the dozy. The controller allows you to do 'things' with them other than just switch them on/off. It's pretty ...

Re: Aux Light Brackets

I've got a pair of lights mounted under the mirrors / indicators on my R1250RT. Expensive for what's really just two brackets, two bits of bent metal and a few bolts, but they're well made and look almost OEM. The only proviso is that because the lights are so close to the indicators they need to be...

Re: There all the same now

I also find universal the snub nosed headlight, Power Ranger / Transformer styling of so many naked bikes makes them all look the same. Throw in the lack of raised mudguard rear end and it just makes it worse. What we need is someone who's handy with photoshop to debrand a few, then set up a identif...

Re: I think the R1250RT is for me, have I overlooked anything?

Don't forget the RT as an inbuilt seat lowering bracket. It literally is just a 30 second, no tools needed job to flip the bracket to the 'low' height side. If seat height is a concern get the dealer to change it to it's lower setting before going out for a test ride or look up how to do it yourself...

Thanks Rayweal, just the type of thing I needed know. Having a polished St Steel surface may look pretty, but may not be practical. I'll rough the surface up with some course grit paper before installation.

Re: deluxe headlight

The build spec for my '18 R1250RT LE spec says it has it as well. I've no idea what's 'Deluxe' about it, it looks like every other pre LED headlight fitted to an RT since the 1200 update in 2014 to me.

Re: Headlight protector

"I would have thought black ones would look better." Ah yes, I thought that when I fitted mine and ordered a set of black Velcro discs from Amazon, even paid a bit more for the hard plastic, extra strong, waterproof type. It was only when I pealed off the protective paper covering the self...
