Re: Drilling holes in screens !
I have the same screen and it's actually half an inch taller at full height! But the shape makes the air flow better in my opinion I think it's the right size and the air management is good I can't remember, I'm going for memory, but I think you can get the OEM screen in different sizes, and also t...

Re: Drilling holes in screens !
Mine looks like a couple of inches taller and a different shape at the sides, it does not look much when next to each other, but there is a big difference the way the air is directed over and around you, for the money I paid for it (new) it was a bargain, I'd buy another in the future.

Re: Theft
Thieves don't care about the soul, just the £s, so anything they can turn a few quid on is in the cross hairs, and as the RT is still one of the most popular models it's going to get some attention

Bike Mechanic - near Wigan/St Helens?
Looking for a bike mechanic near Wigan/St Helens for a pretty easy job - unless your me  I have a BMW R1250RT at the moment and bought both foot lower's and handlebar risers from Wunderlich, but I'm not familiar with fitting the handlebar ones as your need a "drift" of some type to f...

Re: Drilling holes in screens !
That's why bikes like the Gold wing had a vent. I was thinking of putting a Goldwing vent in my screen I just could not find a screen that had these for the R1250RT when I was looking for one I liked, I had one on my last bike with the vent and it solved the problem: https://i.postimg.cc/90Y1NJF1/2...

Drilling holes in screens !
I fitted a Power bronze touring screen to my 22 RT and felt that although it was better than the original, the added size meant I was getting a bit more forward suction from the low pressure area that builds up behind the screen. My solution was to drill 4 x 13mm hols in the screen to see if this he...

Re: Sargent seat
Just ordered one - time will tell what they are like, but the OE seat is pretty poor, so for doing a tour in Europe pretty soon I'm having to go for it  Tried it out yesterday, only 100 miles, and it was way better then the original, but will need broken in to get better comfort on. I'll be k...

Re: What don't you like
For a tourer there is simply a lack of adjustability in almost everything, meaning your having to buy after market parts to make it fit properly. Even the range of touring accessories BMW have is poor when almost all of us who tour will have to fit after market risers/seats/windscreens etc..... The ...

Re: I need input, honest, honest opinion on my paint job for the wheels
Hard to say as we can't see the rear, but as long as they are both the same its a step in the right direction. The close up of the paint job looks fine though, if I was going to do it right I'd get them both shot blasted and powder coated professionally in a colour of my choice, I'd not do them myse...

Re: Aftermarket seat for R1250RT - again!!
Thanks Guy The problem with cycle shorts is that if you ever have an accident you can't explain them  I've had Tony mak ea seat for me before, but it was not much better then the original, the only ones I've had made which were good were by RDL, but they are such a pain to get here in the UK wi...

Still looking for one of these, I was out today and it reminded me my ass is not getting any younger, or fonder of the OE seat

You should move closer to where I live and do all my bike work, I make an excellent cup of coffee - and don't forget the chocolate biscuits

Re: I think the R1250RT is for me, have I overlooked anything?
The K1600s are fantastic bikes, but they feel way more heavy than the hundred pounds you quote, as the more upright models like the GT/GTLE are a bit top heavy, so hard to handle at low speeds, and the GA, which has a lower COG and should be great, has an unnerving weave above 60mph  The engi...
