Re: Insurance premium for a R1250RT
I've struggled with the last couple of bikes I've bought as they were over £20k, which a lot of insurers simply will not insure. Insurance has also gone through the roof this year, many policies are 30/40%+ more expensive, which is not as much if it was £300 in the first place, but on a new bike in ...

Re: Mapping/Tuning your R1250RT - anyone had it done?
I have heard lots of good and bad and don't know what to believe to be honest I have seen videos showing dyno runs before and after and some showing results and some showing no change! :? I totally get it, hence this post to see what others have done, but I was there in person when they done this t...

Re: Mapping/Tuning your R1250RT - anyone had it done?
I had an R1200GS RTLE done by Hilltop about 6 years ago and it made a big difference, it was so much smoother than standard, I noticed it as soon as I got on the bike, not even out of the car park and I felt happy. Here is the graph for anyone interested, I'm not sure why they were getting slated, I...

Mapping/Tuning your R1250RT - anyone had it done?
I'm not after extra power, but more low down torque would be nice, especially as my last bike was a K1600GA, so I thought about a remap/tune and was wondering if anyone had done it and what the results were like, especially low down as I'm never up over 5/6k revs anyway (mostly )

Way to go, you have had a few set backs, but got your foot in the door with Triumph, who know what it will lead to

My last tyre change was £20 a wheel including disposal, and that was a drive in job.

No idea of your budget or direction with bikes, but is it worth having a go on some of the newer models - like the R1250RT before you start spending money on this one?

Re: Finally, a new Boxer!
Doctor T has done some of this - the keyless alarm can be set via the menus, basically the alarm sets automatically or you can turn it off (I've just been on a ferry to Spain, so this is a good thing for me), and you can press the button on the right bar or key fob for the central locking - the fue...

Re: BMW goes auto
Sounds good, but I'd like to try it, I'm not sure how it would work when your say.................... looking ahead at a slow twist back, or preparing to get past a car with limited room - could it keep up? Ideal for most touring though

Ride UK to Spain/Portugal (and back!!)
So a quick write up on the trip from the UK to Spain/Portugal and return on the R1250RT (22MY) I traveled form Wigan to Plymouth and used Brittany Ferrier to get to Santander giving me 15 days in Spain the way I booked. I also booked a room for myself and a mate rather than be knackered in ...

Is this something I can do myself with a obd device or similar, I have no idea its a new area for me. Or is it only the BMW dealer can do by reprogramming ? Thanks If its' the TFT version ther...

Re: 1250 Test ride part 1
I've just done 2500 miles in Spain on mine, I done a similar trip last year on a K1600GA, and that was on the back of a 3000 mile trip on a HD EG in the States, so I've done a fair few miles on three big bikes in the last 2 years. To me the original screen is too small, I fitter a larger one and hav...

Re: Off to Spain/Portugal at the weekend
Hi James, I went to France, Spain, Portugal, back into Spain then Andorra and back through France. My first trip into Europe, 4025 miles in 14 days, absolutely brilliant. Some of the best riding was in Portugal, I'm sure you will enjoy it just make sure you have good breakdown cover and health insur...
