Re: summer gloves
I have a pair of them in the garage. Nice cheap work gloves shame they have not protection I thought leather was the protection? My old pair of Fieldsheer gloves I bought in 1990 finally gave up last year and there was nothing fancy in them except for ThinsulateTM. You don't always have t...

Re: Potential owner in Yorkshire
At least you get a reasonable choice for an RT screen, mine had the sport screen on when I got it. After a couple of soakings and I changed it for the Wunderlich marathon.

Re: Potential owner in Yorkshire
Hello and welcome, You'll find Yorkshire a great place to live so don't worry about that. I think the noise problem will be down to tyre choice and the variable road surfaces we have. There's somebody here who will be able to tell you where the noisiest roads are around Humberside for your test ride...

Re: Dunlop RoadSmart IV - BOGOF Deal
Handy to know as I need a back tyre for my old GTR that's not been on the road since 2015. I have been looking at prices and am shocked at how much some places want for such an older tech tyre My nearest participating dealer is Shorrocks in Preston.

Re: Battery Life
Ordered this EXIDE ETX20CH-BS last night from Tayna and it was here at 1030! 20 minutes to get old battery out and new one in, another 20 minutes trying to get the battery cover back on. Gave up, there's a strap around it.

Re: Battery Lifei
I bought the Yuasa YTX20CH-BS from Tanya, same size as standard but higher rate, and recommended by Yuasa for the RTLC. F4766DA7-E4E9-4FC7-87D1-CAF405D6E429.jpeg Thanks for that, interesting thing is when I looked at Tayna for this battery to order it, it came up with the EXIDE ETX20CH-BS as a star...

Re: Battery Life
My local Halfrauds online say they have a Yuasa in stock for £78 which is cheaper than the Exide with postage from NN and Tayna but I have to collect in store which is about 8 miles each way, CCA's on Yuasa is 230a while Exide is 170a. Question is do I stump up the dosh for a better battery knowing ...

Not been since 2004 when I went for Bike Week but really enjoyed it and met some interesting people. Has it changed much?

Re: Battery Life
My 2020 showed signs of problems about four weeks after I got it second hand last January. When I questioned the dealer i was told unoficially that the new 1250's eat batteries. I was given a deal on a battery charger and told to keep it hooked up when not in use, which I wasn't happy about but did ...

Re: Service light
Don't know if it will work on the RT but on my old K1600 you could set the date on the clock back a year and it went out. It's worth a try and it's free

Re: Thinking of getting a 2nd bike
It doesnt help that I walk with a stick and not very far. If the weight is low down like a Boxer or Goldwing am OK but a normal 4 pot with it's weight up high is a no no. Same goes if i drop the thing. So a Boxer is perfect for me as it doesnt fall flat as ive found out a few times. I test rode a 1...

Re: Thinking of getting a 2nd bike
The K1600 was nice but too heavy for me. I like the 850/900GS but i didnt like it on the motorway. I found the engine too buzzy at that speed. As i tour alot and cover around 15000 miles a year i prefer the GS for the shaft and the Boxer engine. I had a R1800 one over a weekend. Loved the engine pr...

Re: Thinking of getting a 2nd bike
The last 1200RT I rode was a loan bike in about 2018-19 while my K1600 was being serviced. I liked it but found it a bit loud at motorway speeds, difficult to judge the power as not much will impress you after a K1600. December 2022 I took a 1250RT out and was so impressed with it, I bought a used o...

Re: Wanted- inner bags R1250RT
I'm still using the cheapo non branded bags I got second hand on the bay for my Goldwing in 2014. Fitted my K1600 too and fit my R1250 easily.
