Re: Going to be a fun ride home!

Was a fun ride home in the sleet! Best bad weather experience I think I’ve had on a bike!! So much better than my last bike.

Re: I think I have an autocom?

David. I've just plugged it all in. And successfully got it to work. However. The connections are a bit suspect!! It drops out a bit with cable movement. I suppose it’s to be expected with such old wiring. I’m going to persevere with the system for a bit but I expect I’ll upgrade to a Bluetooth sys...

As has been mentioned. What if the mechanism breaks. How the hell would you get it off!! You can always cut a strap!

Re: I think I have an autocom?

I’ll try connecting it all up tomorrow. It’s raining now. I only want it for comms and radio so It’ll be a bonus if it’s working. Thanks for the help and advice. It’s much appreciated.

Re: I think I have an autocom?

Hi @David. heres a couple of pics. I do have the unit under the saddle. So is it just a case of connecting the headsets vis the extensions to the leads under the saddle? If so, what is the best route out from under the saddle? Hope this makes sense? Cheers.

Re: I think I have an autocom?

Hopefully you can make since of these pics. Where would these plug into etc? Please bear in mind you are talking to someone who has never used an intercom on a bike. Cheers.

I think I have an autocom?

I’ve just picked up my first BMW (2005 R1200RT) and there is a bag of cables with it. Two helmet sets by the look of it and about 4 din leads. Also a lead with a small plastic box with wires coming out. I have no idea if it fits to the bike or not? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I abs...

Re: Are tomtom mounts interchangeable?

One thing i will recommend for any Satnav on a bike is a sun visor. Very cheap on eBay, a God send on sunny days.

Funnily enough my next question was is a sun visor worth it! lol. Thank you again!!

I'm usually a Garmin man but as theres a tomtom mount wired in I thought I might give Tomtom a go. I may live to regret it! lol

Are tomtom mounts interchangeable?

I've just picked up my new (to me) Rt100rt. The previous owner used a Tomtom rider 400 and has left the mount. Its the one with the magnetic ring and the power in the middle. Or at least that's how it looks. I've never owned a Tomtom nav. My question is, will a new Rider 550 work on this mount? Cheers
