MT10?
Bloody lovely thing if it is. Small tank and heavy fuel consumption is the only thing that put me off a few years ago. Still waiting for a Tracer 10.

Re: Centre stand removal
Thanks for that. I'll be doing mine soon.
I have a better spare that I'll be painting with Hammerite. I find that as soon as powder coat chips it starts coming off in chunks. At least with hammerite I can touch it up whenever it is on the lift.

Re: Keis Heated Kit with 3rd Party Controller
I bought a Keiss heated vest years ago and have only used it once on the bike. It gets plenty of use at the touchline of freezing hockey pitches though! I set up a dedicated lead on the Buell for the vest rather than use the 12V ciggy lighter sockets. Should I do the same on the RT or can I just plu...

Re: Fork service
I'd drain the fork with the dirty oil then empty the clean oil from the other leg into the one that had the dirty fluid. Pump it through a bit then drain before filling both legs with fresh oil.

Re: Home Servicing
If you are buying new/nearly new bikes and changing them every year or two then main dealer servicing is a must to retain value. My bikes are 27, 15 and 14 years old and I generally keep them for at least 10 years. Self servicing is the only way to get to know and trust an older bike. There is a sli...

Re: Engine revs twist things to the right
Longitudinal crankshaft is the cause - Guzzis do it too as does my car. I find it rather comforting.

Re: Alloy forks pitting - how to get them looking good!
If you have a 2010 or earlier model with fork legs like mine then an abrasive pad - I think I used 3M scotch-brite pads - did the trick followed by a good clean with thinners. For the 2011 on bikes something more sophisticated would be required. Removing the fork sliders is very easy. I just removed...

Re: Will i fit a RT?
How do you measure inside leg? My trouser fitting is 32"-33" and I am a little over 6' tall. Listen to TMF and he says that his inside leg is 32" but he's 5'8" - is he measuring to the ground? I fitted lowering pegs to my RT which improved comfort no end - to be honest it was alm...

Re: Who locks their bikes up for the winter?
I bought the RT as a winter bike. Heated bars, seats, big fairing and a conveniently placed socket for my heated vest make it ideal. I don't leave the house in pouring rain (unless I have a ferry to catch) but it doesn't worry me if it rains while I'm out. The only thing that will put me off is heav...

Re: Quick Wales trip
Most of my summer riding trips are based in Ireland so I generally start the journey with nice route (and an overnight stay) through Wales on the way to either Pembroke Dock or Holyhead. Last year's find was the A488 north out of Knighton - quite a roller coaster!

Re: ULEZ
They certainly weren't doing that in the past. Even if you could provide a Certificate of Conformity that confirmed the NOx emissions when new they were only granting exemptions on an individual bike by bike basis. I'm going to get my '96 Buell tested soon as I'm inside the new zone. It's worth a tr...
