Re: Summer mesh jacket that’s waterproof ?
I know it's a bit late to join the party but Alpinestars make a 3in1 jacket, my friend purchased one earlier this year it was approx £230. It's basically a mesh jacket with removable thermal liner and removable waterproof liner, the waterproof liner can be zipped into the jacket or worn over the out...

Re: Spotify and Connected Ride U1
I haven't had any issues yet other than I tried to make a phone call a couple weeks ago and it wouldn't connect me but that was down to the service provider. The only thing is with the C5/SC2 setup is that it's not cheap. The best price I could find was from https://www.louis-moto.co.uk/en/? you may...

Re: Hi-Viz vests
I've dabbled with Hi-Vis clothing over the years and really the only conclusion I can make is that it doesn't matter how many lights you have on or how much of your person is covered in dayglo/ reflective material if the car driver isn't looking then they're not going to see you!!! I tend to treat e...

Re: Scrap VAT on airvests petition
Fully agree with you and will sign the petition. The reason VAT is applicable is that they are not classed as mandatory safety [PPE] clothing. We are lucky in respect of this that the VAT exemption is across the board on helmets as other PPE it's only applied to the basic items in a range eg: the ch...

Re: Spotify and Connected Ride U1
I use Spotify on my 2023 RT and a Schuberth C5 with SC2 comms and all I do is have the helmet connected to the bike and my phone with Spotify open and playlist selected before it connects to the bike, once everything has started up the phone connects and then select MEDIA via menu button and wonder ...

Re: Front cover
I believe If I remember correctly the fasteners used to fit the front cover should be torqued at 10nm.

Re: Quick question. Pannier Dimensions
Managed to grab 10minutes so I hope this is useful. I have tried to outline the the 2 sections of film with a pencil so that they are more visible and the measurement are all in millimetres. You will need to make an opposing set for the other side.

Re: Quick question. Pannier Dimensions
Understood, I have the kits from BMW and Nippy Normans. I wasn't aware that the BMW kit came as part of a package deal with top box and inner bags so purchased the other option in readiness. The BMW kit appears to work and fit well having kicked the top of the pannier numerous time while getting use...

Re: CarPlay Lite C5 Motorcycle GPS Wireless Carplay/Android review
Understood, at present I'm using both the BMW system and a Xumo XT as I've only had the bike for a month and not sure if I want to keep relying on the BMW one as it does appear to be a bit hit and miss on the connection at times and also the XT gives me a lot more info regarding traffic updates, roa...

Re: CarPlay Lite C5 Motorcycle GPS Wireless Carplay/Android review
Surely you need to rely on the internet signal for your maps and navigation though despite you not being a fan. I'm curious to see how you get on, totally agree that the Zumo XT can have issues with phone calls but personally I've not really had any issues but I use a Sena system after having connec...

Re: On the horn
My 23 plate RT comes standard with twin horns. I believe you should be ok to swap the metal one out without any major problems.

Return to BMW
Hi, I've finally got round to opening my account. I have returned to BMW after approx 10 years away from the marque. I purchased a New R1250RT at the end of July this year and unfortunately only managed to clock up 330 miles so far as unable to get the first service until middle of Sept. I strayed a...
