Re: Goretex cleaning

I have Rukka gear and they recommend STORM products, I have washed a jacket or 2 with it and found it to be very efficient and easy to use. The big advantage with the STORM product is that you put the wash liquid in the detergent drawer and the proofer liquid in the softner drawer and then wash on a...

Re: Hex EzCan Install

I fitted the Denali can smart which is the same thing but different badges to my 2023 RT, I followed the instructions which said connect to TPMS control unit which is in the tail section. I couldn't reach it as there is another shield thing in the way along with the alarm system and some other stuff...

Re: Hex EzCan

It's definitely worth it, as mentioned it's just plug and play, you can program your options to do various things. I have a set of Denali D7 mounted under the mirrors and exchanged the OEM additional auxiliary lights for a set of D2's. I didn't go for a sound bomb as considered the twin horns loud e...

Re: deluxe headlight

I could be wrong [more than likely] but I believe the deluxe headlight relates to the beam "moving" to light the road better as you turn. My bike is supposed to have it and I'm not entirely sure that I've noticed it working as I try to avoid riding at night as much as possible [ which is d...

You need to select the function in the settings menu if it's not self cancelling.

Re: Oxford Oximiser 3X

Just had email from Nippy Normans. Optimate 4 - Quad program charger does lead acid normal and BMW + lithium normal and BMW . Comes with various cables/adapters for £89.00 part no WUN-20190-400. Seems to be best price I can find but make sure you look for the QUAD program edition as they also do a d...

Re: Oxford Oximiser 3X

I've always use CTEK chargers without any problems, they diagnose and asses the battery then charge accordingly same as most micro-processor controlled chargers available today until I got my RT. I found it kept tripping out/ timing out when plugged in via the accessory socket as the currant wasn't ...

Re: plastic emergency key

I keep mine with my credit cards, whilst I have various options regarding recovery I prefer to not have to wait for the service to attend whilst I freeze my giblets off when I could just use the emergency key if that's all that's needed.

Re: DAB - poor signal

I've not had any issues yet but hen most of the time I listen to music via Spotify on my phone, the problem lies under your bum probably as the radio system ecu is under the pillion seat and there is no external arial that I have found yet.

Re: From the dark side...

I too have come over from a couple K's via a R1150Rt which proved to be an unreliable machine and a Honda which was great until age and physical ability got the better of me and it became too heavy to manoeuvre. I had a K100LT which was rear ended and written off hen a K1100LT which I ran for approx...

Re: Confused About Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Connections on the 1250 RT

I resorted to fitting my Zumo XT above the tft screen as the BMW app keeps dropping out, it also rinses your phone battery and as mine is too big for the "special" compartment it can cause issues. The only problem I had was interference from the TFT so made a shield/shelf out of some abs p...

Re: Service costs

Service plan covers all fluids, labour/inspection. It doesn't cover consumables such as brake pads and tyres which to be honest I'd rather go to a tyre specialist for them as I can have more choice and better prices as with most motorcycle dealers tyre prices are at the maximum as they don't buy eno...

Re: ‘09 RT under seat wiring…

You could possibly use the wires as the switched feed for a relay to power the lights but you'll still have to run some heavier cable from the battery to actually power the lights.

Re: Service costs

I was charged £18 for a loan bike for my 600 mile service, the reason for the charge was Insurance cover, apparently it's the admin charge. I decided as the bike was new and under warranty that I would take out the service plan and opted for the 5 year one at a cost of £1350, looking at people being...

Re: Is Gore-Tex a rip off?

Interesting ! I have Gore-Tex jackets, I have 2 Rukka suits and a Klím Badlalands Pro jacket. I also have a Klím unlined over jacket to fit over my mesh jacket which can also be worn independently while off the bike. To be honest I have been very satisfied with both and makes and all my clothing is ...
