I got stuck on there with my friend, and they taught me to swin to get me back to the main beach.
Crikey, talk about learning under adversity!

Re: What did you do today?

Took a leisurely ride out to Hayling Island (Hampshire, UK). Despite learning to swim there, many, many years ago, I don’t really visit the island that often as it fills up with ‘Grockles’ during the summer months. Goretex cleaning

Anyone else had experience cleaning Goretex textile bike gear and then re-weatherproofing with a specialist spray? I’ve used Nikwax on walking gear, where you put it in a washing machine and then tumble dry to trigger the waterproofing, but never tried the after wash sprays. I’ve had my Dainese jack...

I think Honda had problems with cam chains through the 80s. I had a 1987 CBR1000F and it was fitted with a mark7 (7 attempts to get it right!) automatic cam chain adjuster.

Re: Drilling holes in screens !

Wow, that’s a brave move. Not sure I would have the balls to drill holes in my screen. Respect.

How much bigger is the Powerbronze screen compared with the OEM?

Re: Hello from SE England

Hi and welcome to the forum. I swapped to the RT in January, after 17yrs with a 5th gen VFR, so I appreciate your apprehension. I also panicked about those pots sticking out each side of the RT so opted for a set of R&G bars. Very easy to fit and very pleased with them. I don’t mean to add to yo...

Re: CarPlay screen

Finishing touches and results on the road. Tarting it up. Got a new blank cover, so I can use the original if I decide to go back to an official BMW Satnav. Purchased a knurled long m3 bolt of eBay and made it ‘captured’ by using a nyloc bolt behind the plastic cover. Finishes of the blank look qui...

Re: Cracked screen, should I panic?

I have just had to replace my screen as mine was cracked on all six holes. The bottom holes had the cracks big enough for me to see outside the trim and my OCD cost me £350 to replace like for like. According to my dealer the cracks are common if the screen is over tightened. Also note that a plast...

Re: Cracked screen, should I panic?

Mine is the same. It looked like the wrong bolts were used for the 2 hidden fixings Agreed. When fixing any plastic to the chassis or metal frame, you should always use fasteners with a shoulder that passes through the plastic and secures against the metal. Most bikes deploy this type of fastener s...

Cracked screen, should I panic?

Why is it that whenever I buy a bike there is always something broken that I missed on initial inspection? I’ve noticed a couple of cracks emanating from one of the securing bolt holes on the screen. Is this a common issue? Or do I assume the previous owner was just heavy handed? IMG_5860.jpeg I’ve ...

Re: CarPlay screen

I thought of buying a C5 for my bike instead of a dedicated satnav, but I keep thing about battery life on my iphone. Do you know if connected to c5 carplay, the navication part of the carplay doesn't drain you phone battery in no time? Good question. I don’t have any empirical data yet but initial...

Final update CarPlay screen It lives!

So, my original plan to use blocks of Nylon 6 didn’t really work for me. The basic problem was trying to offset the mounting of the CarPlay to allow it to fit the original location of BMW Satnav. IMG_5823.jpeg Plan B is to make use of some aluminium box section. This allows me to offset the bike att...

Headlight protector

I’ve just received and fitted my headlight protector this morning. The R&G screen fits the contours of the headlight very well, but, is it me or do the white Velcro tabs look wrong? I would have thought black ones would look better.
