The footpeg block is in place. All looks ok. But they do dance around a little bit.

Wobbly Boxes.

As per the title. While my 2006 RT is off the road awaiting a bevel box rebuild I've been looking at a few little tasks. One of which is wobbly panniers. They slot on and latch down fine but they wobble about a fair bit. Would it be a bad thing to wrap the posts in a bit of loom tape to take up some...

I'll let you know. He's pretty prompt at replying. Seems a decent sort so far.

Re: Leaking bevel box

Just for near completeness. £175 for the right sensor and I would still have to chop the end off and swap connectors. or £160 to get the seal done, £350 if every bearing is shot. I've sent the Gen1 bevel box back to the ebay chap (James Sherlock, can't recommend highly enough). and mine is off to Da...

Re: Leaking bevel box

Good find..and Ouch!! And it will need splicing.
I had a BMW K100 back in 1990. The final drive broke up. It was a between years one made of unobtanium.
I'm getting flashbacks!!!

Re: Leaking bevel box

Mine is definitely a hexhead, and the bevel box I have with the small hole also only has the one hole so it needs swinging. I'm going to have a random 1 off that I can't get parts for. I can feel it in my waters.

Re: Leaking bevel box

exactly that.
I can find plenty of the one I've already got and no info about the change. So frustrating. A 30 minute job is taking days. And the weather is nice.

Re: Leaking bevel box

Thanks David,
I don't suppose you know if a cam head speed sensor will work on a hex head do you?

Re: Leaking bevel box

I've sourced a second hand box of ebay, and fitted it.. The abs sensors are a different size. My original is a lot bigger than the hole I'm trying to put it in. Does anyone know A) Theres a difference in Size. i.e what does that tell me about the box. and B) what part am I now looking for to swap th...

Leaking bevel box

Hi All. I have an oil leak. I think it's on the splined part of the bevel box. It filled the swingarm and dribbled over my tyre. There is a cutaway that it leaked out off Is it possible to buy a refurbished bevel box. Or am I looking at a main deal. Will they even touch it now I've taken it off the ...

Re: Why the BMW RT

Why? I fancied a massive BMW. Big seat, big screen, comfy for a passenger. And didn't cripple me after 30 minutes. And it had to be a boxer because I've never owned that configuration. But it had to be cheap.....just in case. So I bought a 2006 40k mile silver thing with all the boxes. It replaced a...
