Re: Mixing Tyre Manufactures !!

Many years ago when I was riding a FZ 600 Fazer, the go to tyre set up was Bridgestone 020 rear & an 010 front. This combination completely changed the handling for the better.

This is what it's like... I use a pound coin to undo after failing with most other ways. 1/4 turn anti clockwise. Then fingernail under the edge to pose off the cover. You'll have to reset the fob to the bike then... here.

Re: 2020 Annual RT Meet

Been holding off rebooking as we've just sold our house. Today the offer we put in on another has been accepted so it'll probably be in the middle of a move. No chains / mortgages so all should be straightforward. 🀞 Hope the meet goes well, have a great couple of days. Don't forget.... No pictures,&...

Re: 49 Litre Top Box (Basic Model)

I've got the basic 49l top box, didn't want to pay the extra Β£200 for the wiring harness to make it central locking like the bike. This was on a 2014 model. When I upgraded to the full fat 17MY I asked about getting the wiring harness for the box. The answer is that the boxes only come wired or not....

Re: Best Tires for a 2016 R1200RT/LC

It's always left me in bewilderment the mileages  our cousins get compared to us. Are their roads less abrasive? How can you get 10,000 miles from a rear tyre & it still be legal & not down to the cords  πŸ€”

Top boxes

Went out with SWMBO to view a house (we've been trying for a nearly a year, but Brexit & Covid19 has delayed things what!) Did about 60 miles in total. Back roads, dual carriageway. Usual mix.Missus has to have top box on & panniers never come off 'cept for cleaning, so suspension set for 2....

Re: Coronavirus

Went out yesterday with the better half, her first outing since lockdown other than blood tests at the GP. She's immunocompromised so has had to be a bit more careful. But loads of bikes out & cars too. Been out for essential supplies this morning & lots more traffic.  Looks like th...

Re: Finding excuses for a ride?

Impressed with this Mavic Pro of my brothers, so may well purchase my own. The new Mavic Air 2 looks very good for the money, might have a look at one of them. Managed to get out for a ride today but too windy down here for the drone ( especially as its not mine ) Did around 90 miles so enjoyed it,...

Re: Coronavirus

Hampton Beach is just over the road from the Premier Inn (Hampton) Peterborough. So, if we arrange to meet on a 1:1 basis but don't tell anyone else, the RT meet should be good to go on 10th July, just after the pubs have opened on 4th July. For safety reasons, having a riding buddy is a good idea,...

Re: Finding excuses for a ride?

I think I might be tempted to take a ride out myself to a few local "beauty spots" and might even take the drone. We've got 5 Cruise ships anchored in Weymouth Bay including the Queen Mary 2. May send the drone out to them to have a peek. Need to be careful, it's my brothers Mavic Pro dro...
