Does the Camhead have a spring loaded tensioner on the left and a hydraulic on the right?David. wrote: The OP has a Camhead not a Wethead or a Hexhead, they are all different.

David. wrote: Looking at the Haynes manual (2.21), the LH and RH cam chain tensioners are different. The LH being spring loaded whereas, the RH "appears" to be of a hydraulic design, similar to this found in an 1150.
Thats what I said in my above thread.

Re: Cam Chain Rattle.
The right tensioner seems totally different to the left, no obvious spring as in the left one.
Maybe its the right one that relies on hydraulic pressure.

Well there you go then, can't argue with your experience and reasoning.
I try to acknowledge there are those that may have different experiences and reasoning and like to think others may do the same.

Having had3 Bmws with Brembo brakes I have never experienced brake fade or leaks There is of course the Abs system which will influence the feel of brake calipers. Bmw staff would I think be unlikely to admit to any cost cutting Option. The Brembos on my bike are exceptionally good both in...

The Hayes brakes seem to work better, there are loads of people (me included) who prefer the feel and there is never any fade. The 1200RT (my 2014 anyway) had...

Not just about power, also have to consider fuel economy, emissions and the general character of the engine - all of which can be influenced by VVT I don't consider it variable ( no matter what the blurb may say), its dual, either one set of cams or another. I get 60 mpg and like Ive said the engin...
