Can this backrest be easily removed when not needed?

Once again, a big "Thank You" to BoxFlyer for the detailed videos he created for us.  So many of us have benefited from this, including myself!!! 

On the 2016 RT, the location is directly in the middle of the instrument cluster, it's very precise where the sensor is located, otherwise it will not communicate. I've included a photo for your reference. 

Wow, how could this add up to $3600?  The video at Illium shows the bars do a great job of protecting the bike on a tip-over.
