Re: Camhead - Gear Linkage Lubrication

I used to get my Camhead treated with ACF-50. Even though it was not used from 1st Nov. to 31st March you do get moisture in the garage. I found that ACF-50 just attracted dirt which stuck to the bike. The gear linkage was grubby and it would now appear that the PTFE bushes should not be lubricated...

Re: Best years to buy r1200rt

Have to agree, i have owned two 2007 bikes. The first 07 which i bought new. This one was sadly stolen when 8 months old. My latest 07 RT hasn't let me down and self-servicing is a doddle. Yesterday whilst my bike was in for the annual MOT, the dealer had a 2013 RT for sale. Apart from the said for...

Re: Best years to buy r1200rt

Personally, believe that the 2010 / 2013 bikes currently offer the sweet spot for RT ownership, and I'm convinced that in a few years the last of the R1200RT LCs will prove a similar "good purchase" as people will want the R1250RT keeping the price higher for those models. I've done many m...

Re: Camhead - Gear Linkage Lubrication

Personally, I tend to ensure that stuff like this has a good coat of ACF50 and / or FS365, it's not like they require heavy duty lubrication, and this method has never caused me any issues over the 10 or so years I've been using it.

Re: Maxxis Tyres

Had Maxxis tyres on a few bikes I've purchased in recent years, my experience was they let go without warning, had the ABS working overtime and didn't cope with any form of moisture on the roads. In short lethal.

Re: Winter Maintenance List

The bike gets a good clean, ACF50 as much as i can get to without a major strip, this is topped up with a good clean and FS365 after every ride. This method has served me well for my past few bikes. I may do some deeper maintenance if the weather is too cold in Feb

Re: E-Torx vs Metric Tools

I'm always of the opinion that you always use the correct tool, this probably stems from getting my knuckles wrapped with a 12" / 300mm steel rule for using the incorrect ones during my trade apprenticeship

BMW Parts on line

Good morning,
I'm looking to buy some parts for my bike on-line as the local main dealers parts department isn't open on weekends (Saturday is the only day I can get there as I work!) where is best to buy genuine parts, I know Nippy Normans cant get the genuine part im after?

Cheers

Quick Shifter

How do you determine if a quick shifter is fitted, it was easy to tell on mn my Triumph as it had an ignition cut out in the shifter mechanism?
