Re: North East newbie
I travel to Hartlepool very frequently for meetings- on a metallic red 55 plate RT and on a 10 plate thunder grey RT. Dayglo, I used the above bikes for work and rode from the rings to the A66 & back everyday for 5 years before I moved to Great Ayton. There's a great little coffee shop near me a...

Re: Local Bike Groups & Ride Outs etc.
Do you go to the Pitstop bikers cafe on a Tuesday evening Dayglo? Myself & a few mates go every week in the summer, & the Myton in Winter (I used to live off the Rings)

[size=17px]Advice needed please... Just this afternoon I came home from work earlier than expected, and getting off my bike I saw a strange man in the window of my bedroom. I watched and then saw my wife kiss and hug this strange man. At this I bent down behind my bike to avoid being seen and it wa...

Re: Accommodation in Germany
Be careful with your satnav when heading for Rothenburg ob der tauber; there are two towns with this name. The famous Christmas shop/museum is a must. It's incredible. A very nice hotel which is right in the heart of the town, is Hotel Reichskuchenmeister. Whilst your near Rothenburg, I would highly...

Unusual tyre deflation
Just thought I'd share this with you all; last year a few of us were travelling through Germany along the Autobahns when noticed my mates triumph swaying & smoking. We were all traveling at around 110-120mph at this time so I pulled up along side him & urged him to pull over. His rear tyre w...

Hi Ant
Nice bike- it looks well in grey. I changed my grey one for an ebony black one. (Apparently it's metallic plum coloured, but it looks black to me).

Re: Recent purchase 11 plate RT1200 RT
If you have a top case & panniers do you really need a tank bag? I've toured Germany every year for years and years for 7- 10 days and have never needed more storage. If you know where your going & plan carefully you'll probably be fine with the rigid luggage alone- the BMW RT top case is hu...

Re: MPG - at the risk of sounding like an anorak...
My 2010 averaged 52mpg when touring Germany with 2 up & a whole wardrobe. That was riding at sensible speeds but even when solo and riding quickly I still got around 50 which I was more than happy with. I haven't worked the mpg out yet on my RTLC but I hope it's as good:-/

Re: Gear Shift Pro
I have this on my RT, it's certainly quirky and I'm sure it's quicker than conventional changes but if it wasn't already fitted to my bike I don't think I would opt for it. I don't really need that extra 0.5 of a second (or whatever) when I change gear. Personally I would opt for more useful feature...

Re: Continental Road Attack tyres on 2014 RT LC
Actually Dayglo, that's a very good point about the roads. I noticed the Helmsley TT was particularly bad today. Although the slip I had was actually going up saltburn bank. But that too may well have had a bit of salt residue. Re the grounding of my footrest, I don't always ride so enthusiastically...

Re: Continental Road Attack tyres on 2014 RT LC
The rain mode primarily dampens the drive-by-wire throttle response, to help prevent wheel spin. It has the same effect as putting my Range Rover in snow mode. I've read that when in rain mode the ASC is more responsive, by arresting any wheelsin immediately. My previous RT's had ASC and only ever i...

Re: Continental Road Attack tyres on 2014 RT LC
Wow, what a quick response! I've been riding in both road mode and in rain mode to see if this 'keenness' to spin is owing to the sensitive throttle setting. The ESA is on normal, selected with ride only, no luggage. I'm getting decent feel from the front wheel but was just concerned about the overa...

Continental Road Attack tyres on 2014 RT LC
As you can see I'm a newbie on the forum, so apologies if this has been mentioned previously. I've just replaced my 2010 RT mu with the new wet head RT. I've noticed a couple of times today that the traction control light has been flashing on & off as I acclerated out of bends etc. At one point ...
