Re: future owner (maybe)

probably the GS keep more the value because is more requested... In what are the 2 engines  (GS and RT) different? electronics or also mechanics? Yup exactly my point; consumer demand for the GS means premium pricing I believe that within the same model year they are the same engine. I thi...

Re: future owner (maybe)

Don't think that is the case in Europe, but maybe North America is different. Perhaps. There's a GS and an RT at my local dealer both 2009 models with similar mileage. The GS is $12,499 The RT is $10,900 The GS has Jesse bags which may be part of the higher price though in truth I think it's the ca...

Re: future owner (maybe)

One factor is that GSs seem to command a higher price that an equivalent RT.

Is that an RT or an RS
(Sorry for the noob question. I just can't make it out from the angle)
But yes, she's purdy :)

Well maybe I am .

I'm not an advocate nor have I tried it but there are a good number of ST1300 owners who have. One did a track day and experienced no bad handling effects. Search the ST1300 boards for reports. I want fairly stunned by the idea however it apparently works on those bikes. Sent from my iPhone using Ta...

Re: Is this RT worth considering?

The ST may suit Canadian/USA roads better than roads here in the UK/Europe. I still think the RT is a better choice though Ride both and decide. I live in a part of Canada blessed with amazing roads for riding. To give you a sense, there's a 200 km loop that I ride which takes approximately 4 hours...

Re: Is this RT worth considering?

Thanks for your very helpful advice everyone. There's two other things about the ST that are a concern for me: - the engine is very hot and tends to cook one's legs and nether regions. The Tiger does this also and I can't do anything about it. There are some fixes for the ST however. - the ST is out...

Is this RT worth considering?

I need to do a second test ride on an RT with my lady. The first time I was very nervous about the size of the bike so that affected my ability to relax and get a real sense of the bike. She also sensed my nervousness so couldn't relax either. Subsequently we rode an ST and she really liked it. Afte...

Re: Is this RT worth considering?

Since I am in the US., that equates to approx. 104K.  I think that price is a bit on the top end of the spectrum.  If it has every option mentioned, that includes ESA suspension.  That is a pricey option to go bad as well.  Also, check out the starter (potential ...

Re: Is this RT worth considering?

I can't comment on fair market value (without doing some research), but I have an '08 with nearly same mileage and I've owned and maintained it for five years, starting with about 50,000Km.  Still runs great.  But I would ask about mileage on the clutch and the Final drive.&nb...

Is this RT worth considering?
