Re: How many RT LC owners actually have problems / issues?

You hear people talk of 'Monday' or 'Friday' builds. Some machines (whether bikes or cars) seem to end up with a litany of issues while others seem fine. There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to it. So far my 2017MY bike has been fine, in just over 9k miles the only issue is the bolt that h...

Re: September 2017 - Northern Monkeys Meet

Family holiday, sorry. I don't think any amount of grovelling will get me a pass.

Re: Gopro/other suction mounts

I just did a 9 day trip and I mounted the camera on the front just with one of the standard mounts (the slightly curved one). Exact same place as where the antenna is but on the other side. Worked out perfectly. You can see in the picture how I have it mounted. Also very easy to turn on or off from...

Re: Gopro/other suction mounts

The suction mount is very good - although I will admit to still being too nervous to use it for any extended period of time. In regards of other options, I have fitted a mounting plate onto the top of the l-hand wing mirror housing. I use it mainly for shots back towards myself and I haven't had any...

Re: Alarm problem

It seems that a simple answer would be to connect up a diagnostic tool to the bike and see if it is generating any fault codes. If there is something wrong with the alarm that would tell you. Anyone close to you who has a GS-911? Or you could ask your dealer as the bike is still under warranty.

Re: Alarm problem

Bike is automatically immobilized when the transponder is not in range. This is irrespective of whether or not the alarm is set.

Re: Engine performance and smoothness.

My 2017MY RT is now at 8.5k miles. As I mostly use it for commuting I wasn't seeing much of an improvement, right up to the first service (pretty much bang on 7k miles). However, since then I have been riding it a lot more at weekends and actively giving the bike a workout - not up to the rev limite...

Thanks folks. "A RoSPA gold is the highest civilian riding standard available and the holder will be a master of his or her art." It will come as no surprise to hear that IAM RoadSmart also suggest that their Masters qualification is "...the highest civilian riding standard available....

Re: Navigator V >Trip Planner > Select Next Destination

Completely understand. I wouldn't use BaseCamp if I wasn't using Garmin navigation devices. As we already have three of them in the family it doesn't make much sense for me to change at this stage.

Re: Navigator V >Trip Planner > Select Next Destination

Thats interesting. I have been playing around using MyRoute web app to plan routes instead of Basecamp and again the planned route can change when transferred to your device. I have come to the conclusion that when transferring a route from planning software to device all you are really doing is tr...

Re: Navigator V >Trip Planner > Select Next Destination

Just had a play with the 590 and worked out what the problem is. When you are creating a route in BaseCamp you have to base it on a routing profile. The default one I use is 'Car' - mostly because that's the profile the Nav V defaults to when it is in the bike cradle. When I mount the 590 in it's cr...
