Re: Newbie

Welcome Stokebloke. This forum covers a very wide range of bikes (even though it is titles R1200RT/R1250RT!), so please be aware of that, both when you read and when you post to the forum. The model changes are such that an early RT and a late RT are as different as chalk and cheese. So when you do ...

Welcome.
I'd love to have the space and time to have an old airhead RS. SUCH a pretty bike.

What is this 'reaching out' you talk of?
Do you mean 'ask'? The word is much more straightforward :-)

Re: Sore Butt

Take a look at gelcoproducts.com.  Here's a pic of the small pad you can strap onto the seat, with a recessed area for your aching tailbone. Hi jackronner. This puts us in the same category as with the saddle situation. These items are a US items, we have very limited choice in the UK for ...

I would be VERY surprised if that were the case with such a very low mileage bike.

Re: Sore Butt

I use an Airhawk on my ‘15 RT with tall comfort seat. It works great and definitely extends my riding comfort. Wish I had discovered it years ago. Well I bought an Airhawk seat for my Wethead and detest it. I'd love to be shot of it. I got a Sargent seat and that improved things quite a bit. But I'...

Re: New BMW - not an RT

Just fit an automatic chain oiler - Scottoiler or similar. I rarely need to adjust the chain. Man, I HATE external chains. If they put it in a chain case like the HONDA 50, the MZ or some of the old British Iron, id be pretty content with a chain though (aprt from the noise - although even that is ...

Re: BMW advising exhaust valve sticking needing new headers at £1200+

I did, Good afternoon Graham, Thanks for your email about the Exhaust Valve. I’m happy to hear that you are delighted about the motorbike. I’ve spoken to Bowker Motorrad, they advised that the exhaust valve only opens once every 30 times you turn on the ignition. It is mainly for aiding with exhaus...

Re: Werks Quiet Ride vs OEM Windshield

I've been thinking about purchasing a Werks Quiet Ride windshield for my 2019 1250RT. DO IT! The reviews are unanimously positive, most suggesting the Werks windshield is substantially better than the OEM windshield in terms of buffeting and wind resistance. It is! I have researched the materials w...

Re: Litelok Gold Moto Security Device

sorry if this is the wrong section for this.... Just a word of warning about this product. Pros - light weight, good security, doesn't take up much space. Cons - the shackle is big, making it difficult to thread through much at the front end, so far I've only been able to get it through the wheel a...

Re: BMW advising exhaust valve sticking needing new headers at £1200+

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Those clever BMW engineers have come up with a system to monitor whether the flap is working or not. If the flap fails within the 3 year warranty, new headers will be fitted for free. Definitely agree with you on this. Just remember to get it checked BEFORE your war...
