Speedo needle bouncing
Hi all, another issue popped up recently. I am beginning to be beset by faults. I have checked wiring and cleaned like a crazy person and even replaced the rear wheel speed/ABS sensor but the pointer on the speedometer starts bouncing once the bike goes over 40kph. If I'm doing 60kph it will flick d...

Re: Revving to full on start-up...cruise control
Just saved me a major headache.... I still wasted an hour of my life before I checked the forum but it could have been worse, much worse. Many thanks!

Re: driveshaft failure?
A friend who owns a R1200C took his bike to our local dealer for work. Sometime later his final drive self destructed and the 3rd party repairer we have in town (whom even rides a BMW) found a clip had been left off the shaft during the previous work at the dealer.

Re: ABS red warning light coming on intermittently
That would be a very useful thing to know indeed. We would need someone friendly in the industry who isn't currently making money from keeping that knowledge an industry secret. I went to BMW today and they gave me the price of the ABS unit at AU$3030.15 + installation labour. I doubt I would get mu...

Re: proshift in turns and down I go
If the expensive 911 can't change the value required you might try MotoScan app as the Ultimate version (less than €80) has a boatload of options you can change and is much cheaper to own if you have an Android phone. You can find it on eBay.

Re: ABS red warning light coming on intermittently
Can they fix pressure sensor faults, Module Master say that they can't, https://modulemaster.com/products/iabs2-iabsii-rebuild-for-bmw-motorcycle-rebuild?rq=my_motorcycle~yr_2011~mk_bmw~md_r1200rt-k26 Known issues we are unable to fix: Pressure sensor faults Just got word back from ATE ABS manufact...

Re: ABS red warning light coming on intermittently
Time to buy a canbus development module for my raspberry pi. I will figure out what codes come out of the ABS, i will write a bit of code to simulate ABS CAN data and parse speed etc to instruments so the brake light isn't turned on permanently and the cruise control will work. After this is achieve...

Re: ABS red warning light coming on intermittently
I managed to find a business in Sydney that may rebuild our later Camhead ABS units. I have emailed them. If I can get a rebuild under $1000 then I will refit it myself as bleeding an ABS unit shouldn't be difficult utilising MotoScan according to all the videos I have seen on YouTube. When I do my ...

Re: ABS red warning light coming on intermittently
"I was advised by a BMW service manager that an ABS unit warranty claim was being challenged because the brake fluid hadn't been changed." The hilarious part of this is that many customer accounts on forums show that what they say they've done on the invoice is not necessarily the work th...

Re: ABS red warning light coming on intermittently
Yes I had seen that... not surprising that a part BMW sells for AU$4000 would contain a couple of $100 Ford Focus motors LoL

Re: ABS red warning light coming on intermittently
You are a regular sleuth! I had seen the company listed as FTE and ATE and was wondering if there may have been a typo or there is actually two companies making ABS units for BMW. Well I think a nicely worded email to their parts department is in order. Hopefully it isn't a model of ABS unit that wa...

Re: Technical information repository
Interesting to note that link you posted: BMW List Price $303.46 EME Price $109.99 I think you'd agree... a bloke'd be a bloody clown to buy the BMW part ROFL! Yes we need the BMW part number not only for search purposes but also to list with the OEM part number for the reference I'm trying to build...

Re: ABS red warning light coming on intermittently
I will put it to the local BMW Dealer tomorrow when I pick up the spare parts I have on order.
I wonder if the parts are available through the manufacturer themselves?

Re: Technical information repository
Not interested in BMW part number... I'm looking for the 3rd party manufacturer who makes the part. To understand this then we have access to the technical information for the part. For example, is the crank sensor set up as leading edge triggered or falling edge? Is the sensor sending canbus ID and...
