Re: Replacing front engine cover 2014 LC

Just thought I'd post an update on this. The job is now done but I didn't do it myself and I'm glad I didn't attempt it. The front engine cover is actually the clutch cover on the LC engines (that's how you can find videos on how to remove the cover - by searching for clutch replacement). I took it ...

Re: USB on the handlebars

It's simple and straight forward to do and is certainly the neatest solution. It's really easy to access too on the LC, just remove the upper side panel. Just remember, the same as with any of the accessory sockets, if you leave something plugged in that draws power the socket can remain "live&...

Re: USB connections

Hi Paul, I just had a quick look at the Sena 10S manual and on page 21 it says it can pair with a phone and a media player at the same time. When I said audio exclusive mode I should have said "selective pairing" mode - it allows you to pair your bike as a media player in A2DP profile only...

Re: USB connections

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on getting a superb motorbike! You're right about the Sena issue. Most forums tell you not to pair the Sena to your phone but I do exactly that otherwise you can't use the phone's voice assistant). I have my Sena (20S Evo) paired to my phone; Sena connected t...

Re: Howdy

Welcome to the site and congratulations on getting your BMW. I rode a 2007 R1200RT-P from 2007 to 2012 and put about 35K miles on it. Hopefully everything will have been well maintained on it.

Re: Anyone had LED fog lights knocking out radio signal ??

I've done some testing. It is RF interference being emitted by the lamps as opposed to interference through the wiring. When I took them off the bike and powered them directly from a 12V battery it did the same. It knocks out a portable battery powered radio too. Therefore, it is nothing to do with ...

Re: Anyone had LED fog lights knocking out radio signal ??

Your post is very timely! I just noticed the radio signal is very weak all of a sudden and have spent half an hour tracing the aerial cable to make sure I hadn't dislodged a connector a couple of weeks ago when I fitted.. you guessed it....some cheap Chinese spotlamps! I didn't link the two events. ...

Re: Oldtimers service what a joke !!

I built my own for £7 using a car central locking actuator off Amazon. There are plenty of instructions on line if you are a DIYer and you can possibly cancel the order.

Re: Still can't find a solution to this question on main beam

I believe you will be able to find the headlight wiring behind the speaker on the left side.  High beam is the yellow wire. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Thank you again. It was easy to find and quite accessible. High beam turned out to be the white wire though not yellow. Job done, I n...

Still can't find a solution to this question on main beam

I want to tap into the main beam circuit to operate a relay to power aux lamps. On a 2014 water cooled bike I cannot find any wiring going to the headlight unit. Where is it? I've searched the internet and find lots of info about changing bulbs, leds, hids etc, but nothing about tapping into the wir...

Re: Topbox

I would always go for the BMW topbox. If you need to re-key the lock a new barrel is only £19.

Re: Heated seat on an LC RT

I rode for about 9 miles today with the rider's seat on full bars and it definitely got very warm. I wouldn't say it was anywhere near hot enough to burn like some have described but I'm happy enough with it. I didn't check the pillion seat.
