Exactly! And besides, under seat seems too obvious a hiding place to me, like hiding your house key under the doormat.Bobf wrote: Pete; Don't you need a key to remove your seat? Just asking...lol

Re: So you think keyless is great?
I found a terrific hiding spot for my emergency key behind one of the speakers. I have it velcro'd and zip tied so it can't fall. Yes, I would need a t25 torx to retrieve it, but I always have one with me for this reason, or could find one in a pinch. Now don't tell any...

Re: Motoscan app
Have you look at www.duonix.de for the scanner? I bought mine thru fleebay. Tony Sent from my SGP312 using Tapatalk Thanks Tony. The price of this unit isn't much less than the GS-911 if I'm understanding what I'd need to buy. The idea with the motoscan app is that you just need...

Re: Motoscan app
Looking at the screen shots, it seems that it doesn't support the R series with the canbus. However, looking at the app page on Google Play it seems that it is supported. Also they indicate that they now support the ABS flush procedure. Interesting, I may give it a pun...

Motoscan app
Anyone tried using the motoscan app on their android phone as a much less expensive alternative to the GS-911 unit?

Not familia with the Traverse, but I own the Klim Induction jacket, and very pleased with it. Have several other Klim accessories and they are all very high quality.

Re: R1200RT Footpegs
Have they changed the design of the foot pegs since the 2014 model. I have just popped into the garage to see what your problem is and I cannot rotate my rubber on the pegs. Never had a problem with them. Maybe you could post a few pics. I have a 2016 RT, and do not have the problem either.&nbs...

Re: oil brand
And also, as David says, brand is not as important as making sure specifications are met. If you are member of MOA, they had a 25% coupon for Castrol Power1 a while back, but I'm guessing it has expired by now. This is the oil I choose to use, rather than paying $16/qt for Advantec.&nb...

Heated seat not needed if you wear electrics in the winter. Besides I have a Saddle Man seat and it is heated, I have no need for a sail in front of me, or help raising that sail. My Aeroflow shield works great. Weather protection ( we already discussed the windshield),meaning r...

Re: Fork Stanchion Recall
I have wondered the same thing, but cannot find any information to confirm either way. Seems like most GS riders are working their forks harder than most RT riders, so may not have the same potential for this particular problem.

Greetings, and welcome to the forum. I'm just south of you in Portland, currently riding 2016 RT. You will be very happy with the bike, and this forum. I belong to several BMW forums, but when I really need technical help, this is the one I go to.

Re: Reset to defaults
I just turned ignition on, and it read 11.9, and a few seconds later read 12.0. I didn't start it, have visitors here today so I can't ride for now. I'll check it once I get back on to see running voltage.
