Re: Trickle charging
The only problem I ever had with a trickle charger (the BMW one) was that I had an ELCB (circuit breaker) fitted to the mains plug socket. Sure enough the mains went down, as they do from time to time, the ELCB tripped and when the power came back on my trickle charger no longer worked in fact the b...

Re: Trickle charging
BMW trickle charger is the best bit of kit to keep your bike battery fully charged all of the time especially during long winter and Covid19 lockdown days/weeks.

Re: Cheap tent out of a m-cycle cover
Hi be sure to test this one out in you back garden. I can only imagine the amount of water vapor, from your breath, that will form inside your 'tent' then run down the walls or worse drip on you from above. Not to mention the amount of CO2 you produce.....

Re: Motorcycle Live NEC Birmingham - Saturday 16th Nov 2019
Hi 2 pm at the BMW Insurance desk is good for me as I'll be there all day. A cup of coffee, no problem. That's what I do best ... biking between coffee shops.

Motorcycle Live NEC Birmingham - Saturday 16th Nov 2019
Hi, just a though, anyone else going to the Bike Show at Birmingham NEC on Sat 16th Nov. If we were to meet at the BMW RT bike on the BMW stand at, say, 4pm. Just to see that we exist and what some of us look like. Maybe even take a group photo (or not). Or am I dealing with a lot of 'computer bots'...

Re: fresh from our tour of Spain....
Well done, I really enjoyed reading your trip report. I'll save your route details for next year as I had a similar trip planned this year except that Brittany Ferries dropped us off and collected us on the continent at Roscoff (approx 1000 km from Santander) due to ferry issues. Very impressed by y...

Re: Speeding fines in France
I got membership of this club February with a rented car. €45 fine paid to the French as I was doing 81kph in a 70kph zone and €39 to the Spanish car rental company as an admin fee for giving out my address. Just back from 2 weeks on the bike in UK, France and Spain. No speeding. No tickets.

Re: Wild Atlantic Way
Hi enjoy. We (4 bikers) start a section of the WAW on Mon 24th at Tarbert to Killimer Ferry then head North to Galway until Friday 28th and home to Dublin. Doing it in sections in the hope that at least 1 of the 4 years might be 'dry'.

Re: Getting On The Bike
When you see how a bike is strapped down on a car-ferry for up to 9 hours ie. on side stand and then a strap across the seat and the whole lot tightened so the front and rear suspensions are compressed you can see how 'over engineered' all side stands seem to be and not just the R1200RT. Therefore u...

Many thanks Mike, not sure if 2.5 weeks will make much difference to the snow in the Pyrenees but we shall see!
