Re: It's on it's way
Sounds like you are just about where you want to be - I do that then change the bike, this time round I'm trying to be good, but I'm already failing if truth be told

Re: Will i fit a RT?
Struggled with this one  I applaud the idea, but in most of the pictures I could barely se the difference, and it's about your shape also, the only way to know is try it out and see how it feels, although I know form experience a low seat would not fit my frame, but I'd go for a standard or ta...

Re: R1300GS
Really, I have read most threads on UKGSER about the 1300GS, but hadn't picked up on that one. I did read insuring GS as a whole is becoming more difficult due to thefts. But insuring any bike that is north of 20k is going to be expensive. I had two insurers simply refuse to insure my K1600GA which...

Re: R1300GS
Any word on the RT versions - not that I should even be asking this with a 12 months old RT in the garage

Re: Top Box Brake Light
I had one on my last bike, but at £150 a pop I decided I would not bother on this one, I can't understand where they can justify this kind of money for a brake light

Re: Me Bike
It's easy done sometimes, you have something for so long and never get round to taking pictures of it - I've had cars like that, but admittedly before phone cameras became the norm

Re: Price
Is £10,200 a good or fair price for a 2019/69 R1250RT with just over 15k on it. It has damage to the panniers which look like a stand still drop. Considering it's 2024 in about 6 weeks, the bike has some cosmetic damage, and it's the old style clocks/headlights etc. I think you could do better by h...

Re: BMW Motorrad dealer Ethics
Sorry to hear of your situation, but salesmen sell bikes, it's up to the buyer to decide whether he can ride it safely or not. That's not just an off the cuff remark, your post could equally be "Cheeky barstuard - who is he to tell me what I can ride  " So it really is down to you wh...

Re: Hi from Yorkshire
Welcome back - you have some great roads up where you are, be sure to be careful on them over winter though  No help with the D Day stuff, I'm off to Spain on the RT in April though, it will be it's first bigger tour as I've only done a couple of 1000 mile tripes so far this year as well as ...

Re: Is Gore-Tex a rip off?
I am more than old enough to remember walking gear before Gore-Tex became affordable and despite what FortNine says, Gore-Tex does make a difference, a big difference. Yes, it may not be perfect, but if you've never experienced the PU coated bright orange boil in bag cagoule, (you remember the one'...

Re: Is Gore-Tex a rip off?
I'm not going to be pro or against Gor Tex - but that kind of material is good for bikers as you want it to be waterproof on wet days, and breathable on dry days, so it does kind of suit us even if it does not do both together, which a sportsperson may want  It's just so difficult these days t...
