Re: Auto Hill Start
Thanks RTman I was aware the brakes are partially integrated. I should have described how I applied the brakes each time (hand lever only,;both hand lever and foot brake pedal; and brake pedal only, so to speak). Anyway, what you've told me is that I am doing it right and the auto hill start is inte...

Re: LC rear end with panniers looking dull
Stelyn many thanks that's the type of thing I was looking for ... Or tail tidies etc. When I said I already have a top box and brake light I meant that I ride it 50/50 with and without top box so I was looking ideas that didn't say 'add a top box'. Apologies for confusing. 8)

Re: Bash Guard
Thanks will keep you posted! I've added an attempted photo of the three brackets with the actual plate removed in case anyone is interested, the fittings look and feel well made and sound.

Re: Bash Guard
Well it's really quite bad and I took it off (leaving the three fixing brackets still attached) and all goes back to normal. It's as if it's acting as a sound (and vibration) box that shoves all the noise up the fork cavity. Will have to get my thinking cap on re possible rubber washers for the vibr...

Re: Bash Guard
I know and bottom line is if I can fix the noise/vibration I'm ok with it but if not the 'buyer's regret' will be severe. I guess water cooled GS people will have experience of how these things affect noise/vibration...?

Bash Guard
Well I ordered and fitted this new SW Motech bash guard on the LC. "Why?!" I hear you say, or "buy a GS!" Well, I love the new LC but I have to travel down a track to get to my place (no I don't own a lot of land, it's a 'right of way') and in any case noticed even with the crud ...

LC rear end with panniers looking dull
i look at the LC from the rear with its panniers and it looks dull (it's a go faster Marino Blue so looks great from other angles). Anyone got pics of how they've jazzed up / customised the rear end to make it 1. Look better and/or 2. Look more visible to cars from the rear? I'm expecting a few wise...

Re: Auto Hill Start
I now think I'm going mad. Put the bike in for its service and they said they had done an ABS software update that was required anyway so I should see if that had fixed it as it worked ok on their test ride. I had to leave to get back to catch a train so couldn't test the Auto Hill Start with them w...

Re: Stebel replacement horn
Hi Barry I had a Stebel Magnum horn (provided by me) fitted to my LC at Motorrad North Oxford today and it works fine. It draws about 6A. I'm told of you fit twins you would need a relay. No one mentioned Canbus problems.

Re: Auto Hill Start
Strangely I had my k1600 two years from new without a switch problem. It's one reason I bought the RT. Same cockpit/controls with much better handling and fun (which I'd missed after having a Multistrada) and better weather protection than the K1600. Best of all worlds! Ok the multi got the pulse ra...

My hill start feel opposite to yours. It only works now and again. Apparently needs a software reload. Will let you know.

Re: Timing Cover - Screws & Washers
Couple of questions... Does anyone know where you can get these for the LC (stock ones are cheap looking)? Also what torque setting should they be tightened to?

Re: Wunderlich Touring Screen for RTLC
I bought a Cee Bailey's medium screen with air vent for my previous K1600. Kept it when swapped the bike for the new RT LE. and...... Gutted (as I paid a fortune for the screen and its a good wide shape) to find out the holes are different i.e. it doesn't fit. In a terrier-like, 'wont be b...
