Re: OEM or different screen for R1250RT?
Found what Terry who owns Werks posted on another thread here recently about the differences. Something did change [/font]. Due to one person that continually posted on forums that you could buy the same windshield from another place for less money. Yes, I allowed Julio to sell the windshield I dev...

Re: Brake Light Modulator for 2014 RT?
I dont' think I would try to fit a modulator to the stock brake light. Might be easy to do, or not. But dealing with CanBus wiring means it isn't always what it appears. Especially when you want to splice.

Re: Windshield
You would want the 22" tall version of the Quiet Ride. Both good screens. The Quiet Ride is wider toward the top. You can feel the difference that makes, especially in cross winds and in traffic turbulence.

Re: Screens Again!
The obvious choice is one of the Werks Quiet Comfort screens but I cannot find a European supply and I'm nervous of buying from the US owing to problems with shipping and getting caught for import duty in the past so I'm looking at alternatives. I've looked at the Ztechnik Vstream Quantum which mig...

Re: Indoor covers
Here is a surprise....BMW sells a travel cover that is light weight and fits like a glove with the factory top case! And surprise...it is cheap! I paid around $40 US for it. I have used it for 5 years, put it away wet and left it there, no issues. Built in packing bag. Would work well indoors...or o...

Re: Cleaning The Exhaust Pipes
Happich "Semi-Chrome" is the best all around metal polish I have ever used. Expensive here in the States and not easy to find. Made in Germany, so y'all across the Pond may find it easier over there. One mistake that is common ( I done it years ago too), is to use common steel wool. That l...

Re: Screen options on RT LC
Post was not taken in a negative way! I thank you for the business. Part of being in business is that you learn there will ALWAYS be somebody that has a less than perfect experience. Which may, or may not, actually be due to how your product performs. If there were a screen that worked better in rai...

Re: Screen options on RT LC
I often get customers asking about a screen that keeps rain off them. The answer I give isn't likely the one they want to hear! First of all, if your gear allowed you to get wet it isn't the screens fault it is the gear not doing its job for whatever reason. I have some pretty good rain gear that I ...

The "Sport" shields come up for sale often. Because they are near worthless. I have sold a LOT of my windshields for these bikes to owners of the new RT with the sport screen. You would be better off cutting it way down too, enough so you have clean air on you like a naked bike.

Re: Which Screen ?
Terry who owns Werks sometimes posts on here. But when I bought mine, I also exchanged emails with Werks and I understood the screens were exactly the same, unless something has changed. The reason to buy from Werks was a better price and shipping costs were lower to the UK. Something did change . ...

Re: Gap insurance
That does sound like it pays for the difference in what you paid for the bike and insurance value. That does not mean you can go buy another bike just like you had with no out of pocket expense. Maybe you got a really good deal, factory incentives and so forth. Then each model year goes up some... B...

Re: Gap insurance
It may be different across the Pond, so take that into account.... Gap insurance will pay the difference in WHAT IS STILL OWED ON THE VEHICLE AND WHAT THE INSURANCE COMPANY WILL PAY!!! Meaning it applies to a total loss vehicle where insurance steps in to settle the claim. Insurance companies typica...

Re: LED headlamp (specific bulb question)
I know the LED question has been raised many times, but I'm wondering if anybody has experience of this particular bulb, It seems like its built in a way so it may not dazzle like others do. I'm thinking about it on a 2018 RT. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LED-Headlight-Conversion-BMW-BMW-R1200RT-R120...

Re: Sirius Antenna
I agree that the factory setup gives poor reception. At least on my RT. There may be a way to improve that. While the remote mounted antenna might be a good way to improve that, I would be quite surprised if you could simply plug in the antenna. BMW would find some way to make the connection differe...

Re: Blueing
Steel wool will leave very small, almost microscopic particles of steel embedded in the surface. Guess what happens to steel when it gets wet! That rust can be harder to get off than the bluing or browning. I use Happich Semi-chrome polish on both stainless and chrome. Leaves no scratches like some ...
