Re: Converting an RTP for 2up

Front spring is HD due to all the agressive and numerous stop/starts done expected in police driving, not to ofset the battery weight. The metro panniers are longer and more forward than regular - everything I've seen says that they will interfere with passenger. Not all authority bikes are ordered ...

Re: 2022 R1250 Top Case

Looked it up on a couple of websites and it shows "available", as opposed to "back ordered", which means there's one somewhere in the supply chain available in either US or Germany (or where ever they're made). Does say 10 to 12 days delay before it gets shipped. So worst case US...

Re: Findings: 2021 R1250RT

1. This issue is not limited to BMW motorcycles or even motorcycles at all. Simply put EU (and other governing bodies) do not let manufacturers ship vehicles with speedometers that read low. They *do* allow them to ready as much as 10% faster. So BMW, like other manufacturers, make certain that all ...

Re: 2022 R1250 Top Case

I just inquired about one and was told that it was 8 to 10 weeks delivery time for the color-matched deluxe (electrics and carpet) as none were to be found in the supply chain. Alternative was to do a basic white or unpainted and then have it color matched locally - would cut the time in about half....

Re: 2021 R1250RT Phone Cubby Problem

My first question is why would BMW try to reinvent an app that already exists and works exceptionally well. It’s called Apple CarPlay!  It has far more options and doesn’t have all the connectivity problems. My next question is did onboard GPS go? I agree - Apple CarPlay / Android Auto wou...

Re: Cruise control

Had an ABS sensor issue due to brake pad dragging and overheating. Took out cruise control when the sensor went. Only reason I knew was I could feel the heat coming off the rear brakes.

However, there are lots of other reasons as well.

Re: Has anyone mounted a Garmin on a '21 RT?

So there is no Sat Nav integrated on the new TFT screen ? Unfortunately no - you must use the BMW Connected App on a smartphone. No phone, no GPS. Also the connectivity is a combination of Bluetooth and Wifi which is wonky at best. Effectively BMW released all of this TFT Connectivity stuff while i...

Re: Bargain Price - BMW Nav VI

My understanding is that the lifetime updates are connected with the serial number of the BMW Nav unit, unlike other Garmin products. Also, several dealers in the US are selling their older BMW Nav VI units which are v1.x, and they are not the newer Nav VI v2.0 (really should have been Nav VII). So ...
