One of my absolute favourite bikes ever and I'm old enough to remember them first time round when they made all us youngsters realise that BMW were capable of amazing things.

How do I get to the top of Europe?
I fancy a quick blast up to Nordkapp taking in as much of Norway as I can. Is there no longer any ferry route direct from the UK? If not what is the best way to get there with the least amount of motorway boredom? I live near Reading

I can help with some of this having ridden from Chicago to LA deliberately avoiding Route 66. I've done a lot of miles in the States as well as back home in the UK. Sadly, they are very different. America still has a more sensible attitude of "Time isn't everything". Admittedly they use a lot of lights to control things, they have few roundabouts and I love their All Stop junctions...
