Re: Blood Biking

Thanks iRider & Casbar. I have ROSPA already and the regime doesn't seem at all unreasonable, so I'll contact my local group when I return (from Spain) to Yorkshire. Thanks again. If anything, it gets most riders out more than they would normally as it gives you a purpose. I found i could only ...

Re: Blood Biking

This thread has me wondering whether I might volunteer. I've browsed the website and viewed the video. Is the next step to contact a local group or is there more pre-reading available? I've questions like eligibility, qualications /training, call out frequency, periods of absence due to my travels?...

Re: Blood Biking

We have Blues & Two's fitted but don't allow the use of them as we're not exempt from exceeding the posted speed, running reds etc until S19 of RTA is ratified. I don't know where you get your legal advice from but you should look elsewhere. We are exempt from Red Lights and certain other road ...

Yes, me too. North West Blood Bikes Lancs & Lakes. I also do assessments for new riders, advanced riders and our Blues & Twos training.
It's a great way to give something back and gets you out when you may not have otherwise bothered 👍

Re: 9 Easy Questions from a Lurking Newbie

Good decision, you went with a model with a dry clutch. The wet clutch model is BLOODY AWFUL when going from N to 1st. For a bike in this price range it's unacceptable.

They didn't mention it but I don't have it anyway :-) thanks for the heads up though.

Yes - no problems, but be careful when routing the cable to the right light - so it's not in interfering with anything.

Re: Fitting OEM (DRL) Spotlights to 2015 R1200RT LC ?

Looks right, and yes - you need to visit your dealer to "enable" the controller inside the switch.  This so the computer onboard your bike can "talk" to the small but still there - computer inside the switch-unit. Thanks STeinar, have you done this yourself? is the cabl...

Fitting OEM (DRL) Spotlights to 2015 R1200RT LC ?

Hi Guys, after much reading about the various options for fitting a pair of additional front spotlights / daylight running lights to my 2015 R1200RT LC, I decided to get the OEM version. I have ordered them from my dealer to fit myself but I reading differing information on whether I will then have ...

Re: Which Engine Bars?

They're stone pieces in low walls in a narrow passageway. They have been there since Adam was a lad and are on communal property so can't be removed. I go through them with feet down at walking pace but if a foot slips or a miss judge it they will hit the heads. But all that's irellevant really, the...

Which Engine Bars?

I am looking to fit a set of engine bars, mainly because of some low obsticals between where my 20-5 R1200RT LC is gRaged and the actual road. They are at just the right height to ding the heads and despite being careful it's only a matter of time. Despite the fact NN always seem to be out of stock?...

That was a neat trick with the smartphone. Maybe we can now answer that age old question, "does the fridge light really go off when the door is closed" :-)

Re: CTEK Battery Charger

And let's not forget that not only has cell technology moved on in respect of the traditional wet lead acid, we are also awash with newer types of cells so it would be extremely difficult to compare like for like over any reasonable life expectancy period. The answer is there is no right or wrong an...

Re: CTEK Battery Charger

A lot depends upon how/where you store it too. If it's very cold then it will drag the battery down much more and much quicker than if it's stored in warm dry conditions. Older batteries compared to newer ones accept and hold charge at different rates. Some chargers do that, charge. Others condition...
