Re: Warranty conditions

Hi all, getting near to my 6K miles service on my 2020 RT. I have had a check around the bike and all is ok, all I have had to do to it is a new rear tyre, brakes etc all look fine. I have serviced my own bike for the last 40 yrs so no issue with doing this one myself, apart from not having any dia...

Re: 21 R1250RT insurance question

But BMW branded insurance quoted for their bike for £2500 is insane. Who the hell manage that one? These "BMW", "Ducati", etc. insurance co's are nothing more than a branding exercise (I was involved in setting up one many years ago). In theory the insurance co gets more busines...

Re: Garmin “Lifetime Warranty”

This is definitely a scam, it is quite common one although they normally randomly contact you rather than you contacting them. The fact they say it is being spread by your WiFi is a dead give away as that is almost impossible as WiFi routers have very limited applications capability. Just done a qui...

Re: Options for radio and/or mp3 player on A Prep Bike

One cheap option is a small radio or your phone in a pocket with bud ear pieces under your helmet. A friend of mine does that when she is riding pillion.

Re: FJR1300 V's R1200RT

If you have no experience of riding a flat twin then you really do need to get a long test ride. Initially you will probably hate it but once you have found how to ride the motor think you will love it. Seconded, when I first rode an RT I absolutely detested it for the first hour but the shop had w...

Re: R1250 Tank Bag

Another vote for Givi tanklock, I've got the XS319 which is about the smallest they do as all I store in it is things I need immediate access to, phone, wallet, passport etc. but the whole system just works

Re: Engine Break-In

I suspect it may be in part because the average cage driver is clueless so if you told them to not go over xRPM they would not know what to do whereas the average biker has a bit more mechanical nous.

Re: Phone Mounting Options - Please Help

That looks perfect mate.....thanks! Any idea what the torque setting for that bolt should be when it's done up again? Or should I just use the highly scientific "tighten the crap out of it" technique? Cheers, Rick That's a copy of the Wunderlich stub I mentioned earlier, the Wunderlich in...

Re: Phone Mounting Options - Please Help

I use something like this https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0143/2112/3385/products/hella_usb_grande.jpg?v=1544100296 But my phone is in a tank bag as I use a Nav VI but I don't suppose it would be that had to use on a handle bar mount Both this and Levisp solution mean you don't have to muck about ...

Re: Phone Mounting Options - Please Help

Not a phone but I had a similar problem to mount a Go Pro remote control, ended up using a in a bike handle bar mount which is on a SP Connect stub which works well for me. It is a bit expensive for what it is but it solved a problem. You would not necessarily have to use the SP Connect phone kit on...

Re: Topcase lid removal for painting

Apologies if there is a thread on this somewhere but my searching efforts have failed to find one. Hoping to take delivery of my new 2021 RT in sexiest blue this week, so I will need to have the carbon black lid of the 49l Touring Topcase from my old(!) 2019 model re-painted.  I've manged ...

Re: Media Player - Nav VI

Right here goes (sorry about poor quality photos)... Go to the music player page on the Nav, Not very easier to see but the skip forward and back buttons on the touch screen have a + and - above them respectively, see https://photos.app.goo.gl/9UikEF5dzVgaCiWP7 When you are in the Nav section on the...

Re: Media Player - Nav VI

No audio, just Nav VI blue toothing to a Sena headset.

In the middle of something at the moment but will pop out to the garage later and make some notes and take some pics to explain how to do it as it took me a while to figure out.
