BMW R1200RT/R1250RT Forum

So my 56 yr old wife has to have a complete knee replacement on the 24th… not what we expected but there it is.
Is there anyone that’s had a knee replacement and can still ride pillion on the RT or indeed any bike ?. It will be the end of my biking if she can’t.

Not wishing to be rude but doi have to pay the £32 to become a member just to ask if they have the 1250 tools I’d like to hire ?.

If you’d told them it was rattly it should have been foc. Have you had it changed ?, how did you find the difference?.

Not a recall exactly, but if you ask your dealer about it they should change it, if not I don’t think they are to expensive to buy. If the nut head is 17mm you have the original tensioner, if it’s 19mm the updated one has been fitted.

Got the bike back today from its service, valves were all in spec so no adjustment. Asked them to have a listen, they recon its sound's fine.. assuming its just normal, engine loosening off with miles? One of my mates has a 2021 RT, will have a listen to his next time I see him.. Starting to get a ticking noise from the front of my engine, 1250RT - 12000 miles. Its due to go in for its 12k service so it may get sorted with valve clearances etc but doesnt sound as if its coming from the heads.Difficult to tell. I suspect they are doing this so people take their bikes to the dealers! Which I thought this was illegal now? I thought they had to supply all the relevant tools for traders to be able to service bikes independently I would complain before cancelling as a complaint may get a set to you quicker :? ...

I’ll give it until December then I’m cancelling my order for the tools and get a refund, I feel like I need to complain to bmw.

I may do it over the winter Steve, I like the old bmw style grip.
