Re: RTLC Remapped
Does make you wonder why BMW don't get it as good out the factory! Or is it that they don't want to compromise reliability! Was speaking to a dealer today who suggests the glut of LC bikes is the result of riders returning to air cooled twins? Or is it the end of so many BMW finance deals? Your dea...

BMW recommendation is that all phone functions should route through the Navigator and not to pair the phone directly to the headset

Re: Nav V and Samsung
I have a Nokia 5, also on Android like your Samsung. It all worked perfectly with the Nav V and RT and also with my car too (BMW X3) However, recently the OS of the phone was upgraded to Android 9 (Pie) from Oreo. Android Pie appears to have broken the Bluetooth stack and my phone does exa...

Re: 80 into 12 does go.
Yes, I've had those thoughts many times over the years. Reasons why I haven't include purchase price, cost of refurbishment, lack of sufficient workshop space and lack of suitable tools (unless I stick with metric). These could all be worked around, but I keep remembering that all the old bikes I'v...

Re: Is There A South Coast 500 Or Something Similar?
Could have a look at the SWC300, https://www.visitsouthwestscotland.com/attractions/southwest-coastal-route/, not a far North or as many miles as the NC500. We did this at one point, to make it a bit different we went via Holyhead-Dublin and Belfast - Cairnryan just to save the motorway slog. Much ...

Snowdon is my back yard :D
I've honed my riding over 40 years riding in and around Snowdonia. It still makes me smile. Gods second favourite biking place (Scotland is number 1)

Re: Scottish Isles
If you ever go to Islay make sure you book a ferry, don't just turn up. The ferries to and from Islay are busy taking trucks with grain over and whisky back so it can be difficult to squeeze on them

Re: Has anyone tried one of these Chinese knockoff GS-911s?
I have an original GS911, not sure I'd be happy using software that was 8 years out of date. They've added many features, tweaks and updates since.

Re: DWA 6 Alarm
I put a used alarm from an older F800GS that I bought from a guy who hated alarms on bikes, into my current F800GS, it works fine it just doesn't flash the indicators when arming or if activated. The flashing tell tale light doesn't work either. But as an alarm it works fine, motion sensor etc all w...

another thing to try is you can "send" locations from the smartphone app. Maybe easier than going through Basecamp?

Re: Locking the Nav5 to the RT...
It's all about saleability when you want to change. In the second-hand market, an RT without audio is about as desirable as a Jag with velour seats and a manual gear box. Somebody chose it - but WHY?? :alas: :alas: No it isn't, most R1200RT's we sell don't have audio. Most K1600GTs however do have ...
