I believe that the OP is finding out the hard way why the bike prices at BMW franchised dealers are higher. They offer a much higher standard of service than the independents - test rides being one example. If they do not offer a higher standard of service then BMW UK will eventually find a way of ...

Re: Exhaust flap
yes this is the case as confirmed by the techs where I workLevisp wrote: Interesting. However I think if you leave the motor connected but just remove the cables then the system sees no fault because the actuator motor is still working. If someone has done this maybe they can confirm it.

Re: Dash Lighting
OK, so I have the 2011 r1200rt. The dash lighting is probably the worst I have ever seen on a motorcycle. In the daytime it is like non usable. So, my question is, are there any improvements out there or some type of a plastic color covering for the dash to enhance the view? Thanks On my 07 K1200GT...

Re: Topbox query.
I've just fitted, for the first time, my small (28ltr?) BMW topbox to the RT - I'd previously used it a lot on my 1200ST. There seems to be some 'play' once fitted, a slight side-to-side movement that was never there when on the ST. I can't see that there's anything that might be worn on the RT's m...

Re: BMW Helmet Intercom Bluetooth Pairing to other intercom systems?
I heard there was no actual "standard" for Bluetooth intercom which is why interconnecting various manufacturers intercom systems is fraught with problems My mate and I circumvent it as both of us have "all inclusive" mobile phone contracts and simply use the mobile phones as int...
