RT LC Aux LED lights power supply....where is it??
So i decided to fit the BMW LED spots kit myself, and after 30mins i'd fitted the brackets, lights, loom and switch. quite a simple job really. However, where the hell is the power supply connector located on the bike... Anyone?? Oh, yes i know that i'll have to get BMW to program the Canbus to init...

1200RTLC v 1200GSLC.....Comparisons?
So, after more than two months on a new R1200GS loaner. I finally swapped back to my RT, and what a totally different bike the RT is to the GS (yes i know...but). Engine - If i didn't know that both bike shared the same engine, then i would say they had totally different motors. The RT just feels so...

I let my insurance renewal lapse while my RT was in the shop. But i was quite happy with the renewal price of £195 quid....not bad for a £18k bike i think.

Re: Test ride - brand new 2014 R1200RT
Yes, i agree the Boxer engine is an acquired taste to some...like Marmite. However, i think my RT is the smoothest boxer i've ever ridden, and so very much smoother than the 1200GS i had as a loaner. I know the K1600's IL6 engine is buttery smooth, but i actually prefer the power delivery and charac...

That sounds encouraging. I've not checked with my dealer yet regarding the new shocks, so i'd better call them tomorrow.
Fingers crossed then...

Re: 3 month warranty extension
Well, i'd have thought that would be the least that BMW would give, and which means they predict that our RT's will be fixed by the end of this month.

Or is it labour that bangs the price up?
Yes indeed, you can add another £100 or so for labour, although i think its a simple enough job to do yourself....except for the coding.

Re: OEM LED LIGHTS
Yes, the DRL Halo's are very bright on mine. and significantly brighter than those on the K1600's. I'm also fitting the LED Aux running lights from my old GSA too...but only because i already have them, as to retro fit the complete kit would cost about £300+ (inc. the LEDs, brackets, switch etc.) i ...

Re: MIRRORS
I think the mirrors on the new RT are excellent.
They are positioned lower than the previous RT, so you get a clear view below the handlebars.
And no vibration on mine..

The kit includes a bar mounted switch, similar to the ones on the 1200GSA/GS's

Hi gatesy
I really think you should test ride the new RT when they're all sorted, as i think it's a fantastic engine when applied to the RT.
