Re: Just Retired
9 months after taking early retirement-a case of take pension then or frozen for 8 more years, so a no brainer. I still feel like I am on holiday and going back to work soon and still wake up at the crack of dawn. Unlearning 42 years of full time work is hard but ReTiring any goo...

Re: Ready for iron butt rally
Aaaah the old Krauser panniers with the pish poor frame locks. Fondly remember getting to my destination only to find one had fallen off. Luckily some kind soul took it to their local police station, they opened it up and found my telephone number inside. Two hundred mile round trip to ret...

Re: Cleaning lc pipes
I would gladly pay anyone to clean and polish my RT. -After a lifetime of polishing steel samples, to a finish you could only dream of prior to looking at them under a microscope, I've had my fill of polishing!

Re: Hill Assist
Hill start assist is great especially if you can't flat foot to the ground, as for keyless and central locking I would not miss either.

Re: Valve adjustment - who hasn't done it?
Was that one of the Kawasaki "Chocolate" camshafts. Still miss my GPZ900r stolen in York and half recovered in bits on Tyneside. Quite funny really went on a tour around York on an open topped bus, girlfriend said look there's a Kawasaki like yours going in the opposite directio...

I have **** BMW on my 2015 LC, but the first owner took the hit for the plate for £500- so the selling dealer told me.

Re: Black engine. paint/corrosion problems?
Mine ends BMW but I didn't pay for the plate. Paggers wrote: I always come up with a name for my bike based on some combination of the letters in the registration. This time around I'm really struggling with PF and WWD...?

Re: Top Box vs Panniers
Got panniers and 49litre top box. Filtering and high speed handling not an issue, however tend to put heavier items low down in the panniers.

I too have impact tested BMW panniers- when walking past my K1200GT, caught trouser on side stand lug and watched in slow mo as bike toppled. Pannier scratched but got off light. So far ,touch wood, LC panniers have not been tested for strength!

Re: Average Speed Cameras - UK & EU
Thanks, used your info on that getting back home after the Northern meet. No letters in the post so must have missed me going. A1079 is overkill for cameras, it is not that dangerous a road, or so busy with traffic to justify the camera cash cow.

Re: PCM trousers Long Johns
Visit Go Outdoors- good choice of long johns( even the cheap stuff us good for a couple of seasons). They pull up high above waist to tuck vests/tee shirts in for all round warmth. Used Go Outdoors base layers when walking the glaciers in Iceland in winter and legs were always wa...

Re: RT Owners National (UK) Meet 2017
It was prompted by the Yorks/Lincs Northern meet up in general conversation, just mooting that a national meet up might be attempted. So basically ideas being thrown about from this weekend. As far as I am concerned anyone is welcome from abroad, we just need to put the flesh on ...
