Engine on, 1 minute idling while I put helmet / glasses / gloves on, then ride off.
But then I wait a few miles before working the engine hard, so that the oil is properly warmed up. I do this in all my vehicles. Possibly not necessary with modern oils I guess, probably shows how old I am tho.

Long shot, but does anyone live in Cumbria, if so would you be willing to lend your bike to Fuel Exhausts for a few days so they can pattern a system? Way cheaper than akro or remus, but I'm too far away.

I've just traded my Multistrada for a '15 elsie (SE i think, has more toys on it than my car) I also have a SRAD GSXR600 which I'm slowly fixing up although it is MOT'ed, and a Royal Enfield Bullet which although complete needs a re-wire / new loom.
