So it might not be a van you need to look out for.

Saw the same thing in Somerset a couple of weekends ago...

Re: Ever consider replacing the Keyless system with a REAL key?

I'm not sure replacing keyless is ever going to make much sense economically. I'm on my second keyless bike now.  The first was a Multistrada, the second is a GS.  I had one problem with the MTS when the fuel cap wouldn't open.  So far the GS has been faultless.  ...

Re: I dropped my bike...

By popular demand ............... Remember the Yosemite Sam cartoon where he gets out of sequence shooting his gun and then blowing down the barrel?  He shoots, then puts the gun to his lips and blows the smoke out of the barrel.  He shoots again and blows again,&nb...

Re: Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT's

I often use Micheldever Tyres in Hampshire, Not too local for you I guess from your flag, but normally competitive. A mate used them for a new new rear PR4 in the middle of a Thruxton track day.  Wheel off in car park, taxi to Micheldever, new tyre and back in time for his next session. To...

Re: I dropped my bike...

I have known people who have lowered their bike but have been unwilling to pay to reduce the stand length.  On a 1200 R which was lowered by 1 " it was impossible to get it on.  Bet your turntable added that much.  Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Actually, the turnt...

Re: I dropped my bike...

Just like me although I put my effort into pushing down on the centre stand and just balancing the bike with my hands.  The harder you push down the easier it goes on. That's exactly what i've done for years and exactly how I tore my calf muscle the Sunday before last!  Attempting...

Re: Linked Brakes

I agree, but that wasn't what I was talking about, obviously you need to slow for a corner and approach at appropriate speed, and I am ROSPA and IAM, but don't train anymore. I'm talking about bikers who even if going at the appropriate speed, dab their brakes (comfort braking) even when they do no...

Re: Linked Brakes

You would still need the rear brake for slow riding  8)  Not one for comfort braking before a bend either, its ok if you really need it, but what happens is the rider develops a habit of doing it before every bend so following someone who does this is all the time is a pain - got ...

BMW will supply the replacement forks as long as I agree to pay the fitting, about £108.

Re: Linked Brakes

But remember BMW will, tell you that telelever doesn't load up the front end when braking.  That's why they don't dive under braking. Lots of independent use of the rear brake only is also very expensive on the pads especially on the GS. It's true that BMW tell us that.  It's also ...

Re: Linked Brakes

Sure I have read on other forums ,applying the rear brake pedal increases braking effect. Personally only use it in panic mode where 40 odd years biking logic kicks in automatically. I also believe this to be true - it's the same on the GS. I use the rear pedal a lot in normal riding because a dab ...

Re: I dropped my bike...

My RT is an absolute bitch to heave onto the centre stand-and yes I have read all the tips how to do it. Perhaps I should just remove panniers, top box , rack, auxiliary lights etc and lose some back end bike weight. :wonder: That's interesting. I never had any difficulty putting the RT on the cent...

Re: Navigator IV - Basecamp Uploads

If you replace your waypoints with shaping points in Basecamp, if you miss one, it doesn't try and take you back. This is information I found on another site and as yet I haven't tried it  8) That is correct - but I've half an idea (from memory) that if you choose to skip a way point en ro...
